"elgyem" is such a clever pokemon name

it's said to have come from space, and it's name is pronounced "LGM"

Little Green Man

@codl oh nice... the time in the url is important, and the embed doesn't appear to go there, and also the person who put the video up has a loud intro

so uh, just a heads up

@codl in gates to infinity, they're literally just called their species too, but ask you for a nickname: youtu.be/PAeyB0CrZDQ?t=4m7s

in super, there's a Very Good reason for it

@codl i wonder if github keeps deleted projects on the feed?

because then you could write a thing to create a project and then immediately delete it

i mean, github needs more mario philosophy!

mental health

@Nystre there's still time if you want to make food though!

your plans were for you, so you don't need to beat yourself up if the mind that decided you wanted to do those things also decided "not right now"

you can do those things later--either when you feel it, or when you just decide to hardline it

@typhlosion you can also set up cloudflare as your dns!

i set up my namecheap that way so i could assign dns records to my apex domain (as in, without the leading "www") and it turned out to have a whole slew of other nice things

things like the ability to proxy your server to not expose your ip, and also what basically amounts to an automatic cdn to cache things and use up no bandwidth for a lot of requests

plus it's free!

bugs, death

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz this is why i've made a few trips down the elevator to release bugs that found their way into my apartment

i also try to avoid stepping on ants when walking places

i don't know how full their experiences are, but i do know they don't want to die--so i try to limit that!

i don't really interfere with their problems outside of what humans cause though

@noiob oh yeah, the subspace emissary was fun!

apparently smash 5 has a mode called "spirits", which a lot of people think will be single player, but that's not set in stone yet

but yeah! those aren't bad choices!

@noiob that's fair

i'm not amazing either, but smash is one of those games that i always found really enjoyable, so i'll probably pick it up

i might even get good! who knows?

@Nystre hee, the secret mario genre!

but actually though, it's always a little stupefying to discover a genre that you never knew existed outside of some specific game music

the last time that happened was when i found out that most JRPG music was nu jazz: youtube.com/watch?v=Gz1-1N4PYS

this message is brought to you by Griffin McElroy randomly playing the Pokemon theme on MBMBAM and me realizing "wait, why don't i know that yet??'

"i should sleep!"

(i say, immediately before learning how to play two separate pokemon themes on ukulele)

@SomeEgrets oh yeah!

it used to be a custom instance thing where you had to put data into your header formatted in a specific way

i think a lot of people liked the idea, so it turned into a separate free-form table upstream

either way, it was a really welcome addition!

@noiob aaand oops, i'm totally acting like an ad right now (sorry!)

it's outright my favorite game series though--they have such good vibes!

@noiob yeah! quite a few more, actually!

explorers of sky is probably the longest of the bunch, because it has like 20 hours of post-game added to it that goes into detail of the back-stories of characters

gates was the first game on 3ds, and has an animal-crossing like building mechanic
youtube.com/watch?v=7zWAFqu913

and super has the largest scope, and the most polished gameplay, shaking up a lot of things (it's also harder)
