birdsite deletion habits

9 times out of 10, my deletions are jokes that i'm not 100% sure 100% of people will interpret as one

it bothers me a *lot* when i can't get my meaning across, literal or not, and even the slight risk of it happening with a joke makes me feel like it's not worth it a lot of the time

but why do i only worry about that specifically online there? i tell plenty of extremely bad jokes irl

birdsite, habits

you can learn a lot about me by my self-deletion habits on twitter; a place where i was extremely performative initially, and still feel pressure to be for some reason

@noiob i've always kinda approached vocals like another instrument, since i very seldom really pay attention to lyrics

so, if the vocals really add to the music melodically, they don't tend to distract me--but if there's a real focus on them, i usually have a really hard time focusing

something i'm starting to notice more and more is how most of the really popular people i know about seem to be both extremely stubborn and also have a pretty aggressive snark game

i wonder if its related?

Software: Community Edition

@codl it's kinda fun how much of that hyperbole actually exists

@noiob @tom hee, i guessed that was probably the case!

though, i also wasn't going to throw shade in case it was an actual interest--i actually know someone who is working extremely hard to make php more secure, and i actually respect their work a lot

i also have very little context about how far the language has come since i last wrote in it, so my views on it are probably not really representative of reality in php land

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz oh yeah, i remember seeing you mentioning that!

i have no beef with others doing it--but i personally probably won't, but thanks for the heads up!

no context programming

@noiob oh, huh, that's not too bad at all

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz no no, this is great! thank you

i think i'll give it a shot ^^

i can get super-into rhythm games, and applying that to an actual instrument sounds actually amazing, but i figured i'd ask

i sketched a bunny who just CAN'T BELIEVE i didn't post them here

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz how is rocksmith for learning guitar agility anyway..?

i've thought of picking it up a few times

no context programming

@noiob gosh, i know that php module management has probably improved since i last looked at it, but this still feels cursed

@shaderphantom gosh, i feel this

i hope you can take all the time you need to feel less burnt out--and without feeling too bad about resting

good luck..! ^^

Veiled misogyny in speedrunning

@trysdyn i know someone who was pretty uncomfortable with the speedrunning community as a whole because of how male-centric it is, but also really loves that this event is happening

it sounds like speedrunning might even be something she might want to try now!

...

i know that wasn't about misogynistic dudebros, but i just wanted to throw that out there because it's kind of heartwarming, and i think we need a little more of that when people act like this :s

@EeveeEuphoria all chus are important~

but pichu are legit the pokemon that originally got me over my awkward tween-self to finally admit that i might actually like cute things

gosh, that was a turning point

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz oh yeah! i think anything that feels oily or sticky in general kinda does that for me!

ngl, i wash my hands a lot when most finger food is around ^^'

i think it would be really cool to finally be able to articulate myself outside of small chats

hee, it's such a tease. i'll get there though..!

i honestly think i need to start keeping point form notes for myself, *of* myself
