ear infections can get really bad, but i'm glad to hear it tends to clear up ^^

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz this is so weird to me. i almost never hear about ear infections, but this is the fourth one i've heard about in the last few weeks

if you can get someone to look into your ear with a flashlight or something to make sure it's not swollen or discolored, i highly recommend doing that, because this kind of thing can suuuck if it gets worse

if things aren't better soon, i recommend getting some polysporin ear drops and/or getting it checked out

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz i do really like how you only need to move one hand to aim with detached joycons, but gosh, they can be so unreliable

pro controllers on the other hand are great in basically every other way, and are extremely solid and comfy in comparison. maybe i should really try to get more used to them too ^^'

@codl yeaaah, that's part of why i figured i'd mention the caveats

i don't really have any other ideas that aren't extremely annoying to set up, but i figured that if this did do what you were hoping, that i could save you some headache

@codl have you considered something like cockatrice?

i know quite a few people who play mtg using that, and it's oss! it downloads all the cardstocks, and you can make decks out of any of them too

the downside is that it doesn't very explicitly enforce any rules, it's more of a tabletop sim that specifically allows a few variations of magic to be played pretty easily

(cw'd because software suggestions can be super-obnoxious, and sorry in advance)

talking about big parts of your life that you love in a way that's not only understood, but also reciprocated is lovely! i feel like that would feel nice for everyone involved (otherwise, i would just hang back because i don't like to bother people)

the problem is that ulterior motives can really sully any frank interaction, and it's a lot of energy to fall for them all the time
