kirby and the forgotten land spoiler
@roxy it's Very Bayonetta in a lot of ways, which is both really fun, but also really funny
Do you draw stuff? You're an artist.
Do you write stuff? You're a writer.
Do you photograph stuff? You're a photographer.
Your level of skill or competence in those fields don't matter, and it certainly doesn't matter whether or not you've been paid to do them. You don't need to say you're an 'aspiring' anything - you *are* the thing.
Do the thing. #WormsOfAffirmation
We are 1 month away from the next Lisp Game Jam! Make a dating sim in Emacs Lisp. Or make a Souls-like in Chicken Scheme (aka Chicken Scheme for the Souls.) Or make a kart racer in Fennel. Or make a post-apocalyptic action platformer in Common Lisp. Or make a roguelike in Racket. Or make a farming sim in Guile. Or make a strand type game in Clojure.
@SirTapTap oh yeah! i mostly wanted to bring it up because i think the lack of qrts actually makes people less inclined to use its alternatives
which miiight seem paradoxical, but dunk screenshots were generally used to get around specific limitations about qrts, by people who were used to using qrts normally!
but when something doesn't exist normally as a core concept in the space you occupy, it seems like all of its derivatives become less common too
@SirTapTap yeaaaah, this is actually explicitly why qrts were briefly considered, but then ultimately not implemented here
having the ability to airdrop something along with your final word about the thing suuuper-encourages boosting the visibility of things that, well, ain't great
and, i mean, you can still link posts with your commentary! but engaging with what lives underneath is opt-in now, so it ends up being used very differently
things i appreciate about being abdl
it's no exaggeration to say that being abdl is the source of a huge number of positive traits that i have now that make me who i am
ones that i wouldn't trade anything for~
and for all the interpersonal-kryptonite i worried it could become, it also has indirectly informed the way i interact with others to such an enormous degree that i feel has had the opposite effect; making me legitimately a better person
which makes me happy too!
things i appreciate about being abdl
compare that to now, where i legitimately feel lucky that i'm abdl!
but, also!
kink, abdl
i don't know what i expected
them: "so, you are saying you like to feel cute and be comfortable in platonic settings by wearing underwear you like?"
me: y-yes
them: "get out of here, that's too hardcore, man. friendship over"
i legit thought i would be ostracized
and while there are definitely people who can be icked out by this kind of thing (which is why i cw!) it's almost funny how distorted my perception was
kink description (abdl)
there probably aren't many peeps who follow me that don't already know, but juuust in case, i may as well elaborate!
tl;dr - i'm abdl, which for me means i'm someone who thinks diapers are cute, and having them as a part of my self-image makes me happier overall~
combine this with being asexual, and essentially the vibes i like the most are just comfy and cozy ones!
and i mean, yeah! it is pretty unusual–but i definitely overestimated how much it ire it would draw
kink
thinking about how much i worried about people learning that i liked something weird compared to the reactions i actually got when i confided in them
almost universally, the reactions i got were "wait, that's it??"
it's like they were disappointed it wasn't something wilder, and that i just spent so much emotional energy on the most innocent thing imaginable
@codl shoutout to several irc channels that do this in real time!
@monorail gosh, i could hardly imagine words like that coming from a space where you can already comfortably exist--much less coming from everyone simultaneously in said space
like, that would even be true of pretty much any space that has any degree of empathy for people different than them outside of the status quo
plus like, plurality isn't hyper-uncommon either! so some of them may already have already heard about it too~
@monorail you've got this!
i know it might feel scary to introduce something like this to people who don't know about it--but these are already people who like you~ ^^
splat 3 - opening gambit
@cinnamon this is making my bad, silly point sensor build actually look....kinda doable??
splat 3 - opening gambit
@cinnamon oh yeah! i could see that working amazingly on naut!
it stands so well on its own as it is, and benefits from both swim speed and run speed in a way that most other weapons can't (since other weapons typically prefer one or the other--but not usually both)
@cinnamon point sensor: the lethal bomb where the damage comes from the teammates you summon
oh hi! i do computers, and sometimes draw stuff~ i like lo-fi things and cute aesthetics!
i also probably like you
(also, tagged #abdl ahead, soooo 🔞)
