Semi public lament about masto, some talk about boundaries and my approach

@noiob @Gaypow it'd be cool but excludes folks for whom appearance and/or voice is a major stressor

Second Life mansion with exact replicas of users? 🤔

@Gaypow @noiob what do you mean in fursuits? I am actually an orc irl

Anyway this has been on my mind a lot lately

I'm just one person but if that detail helps anyone else manage their own responsibilities and approach then I guess that's a good

@literorrery I don't that's why I rely on the summit a lot to make decisions if I'm able to facilitate myself doing as such haha

I do everything in my power to not heck it up but I'm fallible and even this process fails sometimes.

That said, if you're ever willing to give me constructive feedback, I'm willing to listen but I may ask for a different time based on spoons.

Thanks for reading and understanding my process folks

When I do act, here is my approach:

- is the person acting out of intent to harm?
- is the persons harm enough to ignore intent?
- does the user have a long history of problems?

Assuming I have a good relationship with the user, I will reach out to them

If I don't, I usually speak with my summit before acting- a decently sized group of awoo.space folks who are in our discord and choose to participate

Lately a lot of folks have put a lot of pressure on me to be a sort of moral compass for the fediverse

I want y'all to know, I hear you and am trying my best to help folks do the best they can

But we need to be clear about how this works for me:

- I will take you seriously even if I don't act
- I act if awoo users have become involved
- I act if the behavior causes harm or can lead to causing harm

@woozle @noelle oh I apparently missed the part where you can see others blocks

Yea I'd say user who set only would prevent abuse but still make this great

@noelle @woozle the idea being that if it's only facing the user who set it imo

What would be great is if, instead of blocking someone who is problematic, I could put a "warning tag" on their account. Then whenever they tooted, the toot would be visibly flagged for me as being from a warning-flagged user.

I could also choose to hide all warning-tagged toots, if I wasn't in the mood for dealing with them.

Even better: people who follow me would see the warning tags as well (popup on toot: "user has been warning-tagged by Woozle Hypertwin [and 27 others you follow]").
