Anxiety, media, self-care
I don't know how to disconnect. I try watching media but I run out of that. 45 has made me yet again fearful about existence and how it might get me along with everyone else wiped out by two enormous narcissists.
I just started living.

@xurnami Honestly, what helped me most in the last couple years was finding a combination of medications that worked. I've never had much luck with anything other than trying to distract myself with video games, and like you said, that's not infinite.
Anxiety, media, self-care
@Felthry I'm on a new medication now. I was feeling I was on the right track and yet I'm back here again. I think I need to call the doctor again and see what I need to do.
Anxiety, media, self-care
@xurnami That might be a good idea. Also might want to double check that you didn't forget a dose today or anything, if the medicine seemed to be helping?
Anxiety, media, self-care
@Felthry Yup, definitely took it. Both doses.

@xurnami Hrm. I'd probably have more advice if I wasn't falling asleep at the keyboard... I hope you can get things figured out, and if you like I can try to help in the morning.
Anxiety, media, self-care
@xurnami my selfcare solution when i've run out of things to do is hyperfocus on something, even if it's just for a few minutes.
make a ritual of making tea (or other beverage, or toast, etc). listen to an album you know you love, or that's entirely new. watch a movie you've memorized and quote the whole thing.
longerform hyperfocus for me is usually getting into a new game or cleaning for a few hours.
i hope this wave passes soon, friend. good luck.

I don't know how to self-care. I don't know what to do. All I do is wallow and it gets worse.
