@arilin Hey, if you need any tips on that, Peg and I have been doing more or less 5–8 with our respective arts since the epidemic started! *stircrazy forced smile*

uspol, shenanigans, ha ha only serious
OK, to hell with sober rational avenues of protest. Let's all pick one Republican senator, and get as many people as possible to call their office on the same day and tell them, verbatim, "Go cram a scorpion up your nose."
Will it change the world? No.
Will it waste a bit of their time as they try to figure out why this *specifically* is happening to them? Possibly.
Will it give me a moment of passing amusement in this third-rate Groundhog Day ripoff? Almost certainly.
re: food, complaint about entropy
@hummingrain GOD DAMMIT. DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT.
See, I have this "gift" for making puns that I DON'T KNOW I'M MAKING. I can't seem to ever do it on purpose, but...
cc: @emanate, who will vouch for this
re: food, complaint about entropy
@hummingrain I'm sorry, I consider you a dear friend, but my revolutionary underdog sentiments oblige me to root for the potatoes. Technically, um, you *are* the oppressor in this situation... 😽
@001zlnv [🐯] Aren't we, though? *naps*

ONE damn thing I've gotten right about being an adult...
@Austin_Dern Haha, fuckin' Random. I'm insatiably curious whatever happened to that colossal bleephead. I ain't even mad, it seems pretty obvious my team won that one. XD
re: foodcrime
(I did the math. ~61,300 calories. For reference, the ballpark LD50 I found for sucrose is 21,000 calories.)

re: PSA
[🐯]: As always, tigers are the sole exception to the above. You should educate yourself about tigers and learn all that you can about their winning smiles, boundless good natures, incomparable beauty, warm soft bellies, and indisputable majesty. I recommend that you start with the Gospel According To Saint Hobbes: https://calvinandhobbes.fandom.com/wiki/G.R.O.S.S.#Password Do not educate yourself with anything that says bad things about tigers. You should also learn as many ways as possible to prepare tuna and salmon, and be prepared to do so at anytime.
PSA
Using the phrase "educate yourself" in any context is a good way to make me dislike you. I won't mute you. I won't fail to balance it against any good traits you have. But I will be intensely suspicious of you for a while, because as far as I'm concerned, it translates precisely to "Why can't you just make sense and _agree_ with me? Are you seriously going to make me have to make my argument _myself_?!?"
Nobody who uses that phrase is EVER happy when someone does go study an issue... and just comes back with a more sophisticated argument for why they disagree. :p
This isn't a subtoot or anything. Nobody here has committed that offense recently. But it came up on birdsite, and it reminded me how instantly it can sour me on someone's opinion, even if I agree with it.
family, mh, NOLA (+), 🐈 (±shemp)
Good day today, spent mostly in the park chatting on the phone with my endearingly obnoxious mom, while sprawling a few feet away from Peg.
The general serenity of the day was marred only by an encounter with poor Shemp, who through no fault of his own is still enduring a long and difficult bout of being a cat. My heart goes out to him and his loving partner, Jingly Man On Stick, in this difficult time. :'(
@anthracite I didn't expect her to sound so *well*, psychically and physically, either. You can really tell where Duncan got it all from, whatever his "it" is exactly...
@hystericempress I'm pretty sure 吃 = "eat" and 从纽约 = "from New York."
The best I can do with the string under the 吃 character looks like 城到?的??的城市. Not much luck translating the fragments, but I think it's something about cities? I'd really need a much closer look at the unreadable characters.
@hystericempress Hey, sis, could you get me a closer snapshot of as many of those characters as possible? I'm pretty good with a kanji/hanzi dictionary. I think I've identified a few of those as Simplified Chinese? I've already tracked down six characters, am not unwilling to make an evening of it but I need a higher-res look. Thanks!
