I think I just really really miss people. I've felt doomed my whole life and been more or less okay. This is just the furthest and longest I've ever been from any sort of real-world OR roleplaying community.
Birdsite is a complete waste except for keeping touch with a couple of old friends and yelling at clouds. We haven't seen most of Peg's friends in person more than once or twice since we got down here. You critters are basically all I've got left.
And deep down I just can't convince myself it's not my fault.
Thank you for staying.

got those Norma Desmond feels something fierce tonight. "I'm still big, right? It's just the Internet that's gotten small."
just feeling very small and doomed and overwhelmed tonight, waiting for that sword of damocles to fall.
i guess things are technically ok. i'm almost caught up on work, i can probably get my first vaccination monday, and i think i have most of the pending stuff on my to-do list under control.
i just feel like it's all gonna be for nothing anyhow, because i'm so badly overdue for some life-wrecking disaster that's gonna sweep it all away anyhow and OH LOOK AT THAT I happen to live right up hurricane alley these days.
re: birdgirl, kink, bweeoop
@001zlnv It's not nearly as sharp comedy as the original, but I kinda like it, and it's nice seeing something than the usual sociopathic comedy with these characters. It feels kinda like the Daria to Harvey's Beavis & Butthead. But yeah, I totally agree it doesn't land nearly as well. It feels both slow _and_ frenetic at the same time somehow.
birdgirl, kink, bweeoop
okay just when i think the hypnosis kink is passe, meredith the mindtaker comes to make it look hot as fuck again. i haven't seen anyone that casual with other people's headspheres since lavavixens stalked the earth
show's not half bad, either, actually feels a lot more grounded and mature than harvey birdman -- the [ adolescent swim ] kids are gonna hate it because its gender politics are not gross and it's all covered in girl cooties
re: media question
@Austin_Dern That reminds me, there's a full episode of Spike Milligan's Q5 out there-- the show that legendarily made John Cleese afraid Python had been beaten to the punch-- and I still haven't sat down with it.
re: media question
@xinjinmeng @Phorm My term for that sort of ADR trickery is "falling down into some butterscotch."
re: media question
@xinjinmeng @Phorm Wow, I think you've just called out about 70-80% of my favorite neo-noirs and "prestige" dramas...
re: media question
@KinkyTurtle "What did we learn, Palmer?" I should watch that one again, it's one of the few Coen Bros. films I haven't seen multiple times.
re: media question
@Austin_Dern Oh, I've heard of the Bed-Sitting Room, never seen it!
media question
What would you consider the most "difficult" comedy you've ever watched, for any given definition of "difficult" or "comedy?"
(I'm thinking about the subject because I'm about to start my fourth attempt to get into The League of Gentlemen's "Psychoville." It's one of those series that I keep hearing is rewarding but makes itself real difficult to love...)
@Leucrotta Is this one of those "next thing in the sequence" tests?
@hystericempress I... I'm like a cross between Gene Belcher, Buster Bluth, and Dwight Schrute. D: But at least I'm aware of it!
@Leucrotta my brain keeps wanting to transition from this tweet to crispin glover's legendary rant as he nearly booted david letterman n.n;
@Leucrotta Which reminds me that I have the ENTIRE FUCKING SERIES RUN of the Frantics radio show and really should figure out somewhere to dump them someday.
They are very very... Canadian, which is to say very mild and middle of the road and much of it has not aged well at all. But there is some quality Ti Kwan Leep-grade material.
