@chimerror If there's one thing I've learned on this miserable planet, it's that the naps you take when you know you only have a limited time before an event are the very best naps in the world.

I almost miss 15-minute "one quickie before i run for the work bus" naps. Especially the ones I'd have at 4:45 at the office where my boss couldn't see me. :D

Oh, there we go. Maybe I'll spend today going through my political news archives looking for the phrase "time capsule" -- the one I use to make sure I see who was wrong, wrong, wrong years later so I can make fun of them. Probably privately. We'll see how wrong people were.

I had occasion to be introduced to Leftist General Ripper today and, as I do not have the time nor patience nor stiff upper lip to be cast as Leftist Mandrake, I will instead be taking the appropriate measures to make sure I am never exposed to this person again.

@Owlor Haha, a recent Cat Situation has obliged me to brush up quickly on my Spanish and I was giggling the other day about how much I can get away with just by speaking in the fanciest, most Latinesque Spanglish I can, because THAT MOSTLY WORKS ACTUALLY.

There's a good story about it in RIchard Feynman's "Surely You're Joking" autobiography, too. He got remarkably far in Brazil on words like "consequentamente" and people just thought he was super-literate instead of a dumb American. :D :D :D
