I have heard "Eple" before. Hearing it again triggered a MONSOON of pleasant nostalgia.

And I have absolutely no idea from where. I'm acting on faith that it's not just déjà vu.

The weird thing is that it seems to have a number of well-known appearances... and I know NONE of them are it. (e.g., the Apple setup music, Austin City Limits, PBS affiliate KLRU...)

But I want to say it was licensed in SOME damn thing that I watched regularly. I want to say public TV. Maybe even interstitial music.

Seriously, it's amazing how far our six will go out of their way NOT to hurt us even if they're annoyed. Could kinda use a musical Experience with a capital E. Something like Boards of Canada's Geogaddi or The Caretaker's Everywhere at the End of Time.

Something intense and a little magical, maybe a little (or a lot) difficult, even something more than a little disturbing.

Melancholy is good. Even depressing is good. Horrific is bad. Angry is bad. Hopeless is bad. Creepy is very, very, very good. Not creepy is also OK I guess. :)

Concept album, probably, is most likely to do the trick.
