@LexYeen I want to say something reflexively snarky and self-deprecating, but honestly, Peg and I pretty much live our character kayfabe 24/7 and it's an absolutely vital relationship tool that really helps keep us both sane.

I feel like one of postfurry's enduring lessons that I brought into real life is that you can put ANYTHING AT ALL THAT YOU LIKE in your gender and species boxes, maintain it in your social relations with people who Get It, and it JUST DOESN'T HURT ANYTHING.

I'm not a tiger but I play one in real life-- because RL is really just another game that humans play, and it never really bore that much resemblance to physical reality to start with.

@mawr In that spirit, this morning I left the Stedfast Baptist Church in Fort Worth a lengthy reply to their answering machine message (a "friendly reminder" of Lev. 20:13) telling them they're responsible for things like the Colorado shooting-- and that the ONLY reason I wasn't renting a car to cause an ugly scene at today's services is that I woke up to the breast of my transgender wife in my mouth and was reminded I have much better things to do.

I made a point of going into levels of anatomical detail that would make King Solomon himself blush. :D

DAE kinda feel like both history and Whatever It Was We Postfurries Were Doing kinda crashed to a halt sometime around 2015 and we've all been living in some kind of phantom dimension with zero psychic energy since then?

A little intrigued by Masto again now that there's a new influx of people. But mostly just having another bout of severe cultural allergy.

I feel like I am about to barf up a hairball full of little chewed up soggy bits of timeline-algorithm code, snide right-wing memes, and Zoomer debates over whether Jorts should be canceled for their shocking and clearly racist indifference to the plight of Myanmar.

I don't like anybody right now, on a fundamental level. If it's any consolation, even ARTIE is kinda pissing me off right now. (All she's done all day is staaaaaare at me. =O.O= ) And I have a little post-it note on my cruel tiger heart that has all your names and says "FRENDS - DO NOT EET."

But I'll still be in my den. And you really, really, really should not enter it unless you have either Armor Rating 10+ or at least 50 kg (110 lbs) of cooked unseasoned beef, preferably with the head still on.

If I could ask for anything, it would be for someone to come open me back up, give me a glimpse of the Good Old Days where I had decent outlets for the softer, subbier, more mystical part of myself. All that feels gone, gone, gone, and what's left just feels like (an admittedly very comfortable and easy) holding pattern.

But I'd actually be willing to take on a little pain and risk right now to have any of that back, to be able to walk back onto Tapestries or Livejournal circa 2002 and be the weirdest, kinkiest, most sociable and luminous me.

Telling someone who's chosen to remain on Twitter just to drag Elon and watch the fireworks is precisely as stupid as telling Mohammed Atta "well, buddy, you're really just propping up American capitalism" because he stopped at the 7-11 for a coffee on the way to the WTC.

I'm pretty confident the morale damage I was doing over there, however minimal, still outweighs the $0.0004 Elon made off my engagements.
