HEY FEDIVERSE!

Sharing is fun!

Send me a favorite visual artwork!

ESPECIALLY send me ones you can't get out of your head.

@starkatt More recently, well....this is my current phone desktop. :-)

@starkatt Angus McBride’s version of the Battle of Svolder. I fell in love with this one as a kid. Lots of compositional cues point you straight to King Olaf, and yet each person in this is very much their own character. A sword age, an axe age, a wolf age, would you know more?

@starkatt
"Cockpit" by Hadi Jalali. It's almost like a colored sketch, and yet the shading and coloring and subject matter are so perfectly executed that every time I look at it, a part of me is instantly transported to that ship.

I fucking love it and I can't get enough of it. ♥️

@mawr gosh. The view out the window is what makes it for me.

@starkatt Remake of Elite: Dangerous except it's all based on Hadi Jalali's drawings plz

@starkatt This picture I commissioned a long while ago, and I remember getting it and staring it for a long, long while before just -crying-
At the time i was very heavily repressed and trying to run from my gender issues, and this was the first pang I had of pure, core-hitting "this is what I want to look like. This is why I hate my body. I'm supposed to look like this"

@starkatt (actually, I realized that I don't think i ever told moodyferret (the artist) that so~ I think I will :D )

@Oneironott @starkatt

Oh dang. MoodyFerret's art played a not-small part in my figuring out I was not-straight. VERY not-straight. I called it "Theoretically Bi" at the time, because uh. All my experiences at first ended up being with guys. :-)

@starkatt Haseltine's "Natural Arch at Capri". When I saw it in person in a museum, I was floored, and just stood there staring at it for something like fifteen minutes. Before leaving the museum, I came back to it and sat down and just stared.

@Soreth that's exactly where you should be living, right?

@starkatt "The Little Blue Horses," by Franz Marc franzmarc.org/The-Little-Blue-

when I was in grade school, the local library had a thing where you could check out paintings (reproductions, I'm pretty sure) and hang them or whatever for a while and then return them, and meanwhile they'd display a selection of them in the library, and one of them was this picture. it *fascinated* me. I still like it very much.
