furry fandom stuff
At this point saying you're a furry is about as specific as saying you like movies or video games.
And I think the big takeaway from a fandom with a huge range of incomes, professions, subinterests, kinks that make mine look ridiculously boring, intelligence which makes me look real conventional, and spiritualities which make me look like the most hidebound atheist, is that really, kindness is the part that counts most.
`It's not like I'm tooting,' Case heard someone say, as he shouldered his way through the crowd around the door of the Chat. `It's like my body's developed this massive meme deficiency.' It was a Fediverse voice and a Fediverse joke. The Catsubo was an instance for professional shitposters; you could lurk there for a week and never see two words of Discourse.
Depression.
Sometimes, I sit for hours at my laptop in my room in complete silence. It's not that I don't have music playing; it's that there's musical rambling going on inside my head. I have spontaneous music in my "mind's ear" near-constantly, and this has been the case as far back as I can remember.
I never stopped making music. I just stopped being able to share it with others like I once could. Each change of treatment is a fresh attempt to reclaim that ability.
Maybe this one?
about the dewhitelisting (meta)
Hey all.
Distinctions exist in community standards and attitudes between one instance to another. Sometimes this leads to an action such as our dewhitelisting of witches.town.
Dewhitelisting w.t is not the declaration of a feud or an indictment; it is an action @vahnj took to uphold our community standards. I still have an account on witches.town. I still like it. Awoo is just a different space.
Please be kind to one another.

My story, "Support," has been accepted for the inaugural issue of CLAW! On the upside, this means I'll be in print again, and the characters I started for @makyo's Tarot anthology will make a follow-up appearance in another place. On the downside, I can't share it with you yet, and I'm pretty happy with this one. So, if you're interested in semi-realistic transspecies narrative, pick yourself up a copy when it's out and support lesbian furry erotica while you're at it!
Recently, the Panera nearest my house closed shop. The mall to which it's attached is doing some remodelling work in their food court, so one of the shops there – a piroshky place! – has taken up temporary residence in the ex-Panera.
The lights are comfortably low, there's _abundant_ seating at nice tables, and the only music is from a small, unobtrusive little portable radio one of the employees brought in.
For the short time it's here, this might be my favourite café to work from.
Trans-cranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is weird. The generated magnetic field has to reach the prefrontal cortex by going through the same area as some motor nerves, so there's some involuntary muscle action. Here's one picture of me in the rig between pulses, and one during a pulse.

Fun fact: "Hello! Ma Baby", today best known as the song Michigan J. Frog sings in the classic short "One Froggy Evening", was written as a "coon song" - a racist parody of black people. It's about a man who's never met his sweetheart and only talks to her on the telephone.
The song sent up black people's perceived "backwardness" and "promiscuity" - because it's implied the sweetheart is sleeping around, and because it was considered laughable that a black person would know how to use a phone.
Cranky old person talking about how transporters were great back in the day when there were one, maybe two per city and it was an event to go via them and you met interesting people in queue and all, instead of like now where every house has a booth and there's instant service and you barely even wear pants for the process.
