amazon
"In the US, Amazon workers now start at an average wage of USD $18 an hour. In Canada, the starting rate is now between CAD $17 and $21.65 an hour. Amazon boasts that it helps to finance education for its workers. It offers extensive medical and dental benefits, and paid parental leave for up to 20 weeks."
"Amazon’s worker turnover rate is roughly 150 percent a year, meaning it replaces its entire workforce every eight months"
"...the logistics giant cedes no ground to unions on one vital point: controlling productivity. Here, Amazon is fragile. It needs to fulfill orders constantly, and any disruption or slowdown in its integrated system impacts the rest of the distribution chain. Workers’ control over production – real workers’ power – would thus significantly affect Amazon’s profits, far more than wage increases do."
I just got hit by a lightning bolt. Amazon isn't just bad, it's impossible. We can't allow this business model to exist

I did some very loose #drawing, with fantasy characters, some portraits, and a Norse type vs. a werewolf, and it helped with the Sunday Evening Feelings.
Ring of Fire, if it were written in a minor key. https://youtu.be/zX9eleTmJoc via @YouTube
wow, someone remade a country song so now it sounds like a country song!
Before getting caught in that particular spiral, I made sweet & sour fish, and meatballs, and put up some red onion pickles. I never thought I'd enjoy cooking so much, but it's a good compromise between adulthood (save money, food on hand) and self indulgence (making something).
Okay, I was able to get the WA DOT site to accept a direct payment from my bank rather than either card I tried, but not after losing my temper, which is a sign that this REALLY hit childhood buttons. Hopefully this is done and they will send me my tabs.
So now I need to step back from the feeling that I am a completely terrible thing which justifies anything that might be done to punish me.
I’ve been thinking lately that a big category of emotional response are places where I am actually in the right, should be able to do something about stuff, and can’t effectively do anything. All I can think here is that life is inclusive and additive rather than exclusive and subtractive, such that I’m going to be upset about this stuff but there’s more in my life. I think this has been thrown off by the catastrophizing, fix-it-NOW, anything can be used to penalize you nature of childhood.
So Furlandia is May 27-29; I want to go and was wondering if anyone else I know was interested.

recommend turning off the sound from the PJ movie but playing the soundtrack from the more believable scene from The Matrix
Matrix posting
"They are holding all the keys, they are guarding all the exits, which means sooner or later someone is going to have to fight them. I won't lie to you Neo, every man, woman or neutrois who has ever fought an agent has died HORRIBLY. So of course you'll win."
"uhhhh dude, like how?"
"Because they aren't the protagonists of this movie, and you are."
"So you're like, saying I can TOTALLY dodge bullets?"
"No. What I'm like saying is that when the time comes, you won't have to."
"Dude that is so non-non-non-heinous."
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
