Social Anxiety/Empath Stuff

@Oneironott @Roady_Dragonfae @Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town @emanate Oooh, that's a good one.

Other things might me a bracelet or necklace you wear, a thing you can sorta charge with personal energy and also be a reminder. Amulet of sorts I guess!

I had one of those once, metal version of a personal symbol.

Honestly, though, for me now the collar serves a lot of that same shielding and self-reinforcing purpose.

Social Anxiety/Empath Stuff

@Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town @Roady_Dragonfae @Oneironott That's helped me a lot lately, yeah. Shielding can /also/ be a glamour of sorts.

Shielding for me is very tied to my energy level, so I make sure to keep that up (previously caffeine and sugar, now just adderall). It's easier with random customers, though, than it is if one of my coworkers is having an off day. Individual short exposure is easier.

Social Anxiety/Empath Stuff

@Oneironott @Roady_Dragonfae @emanate Definitely. I used to do a lot more with shielding, and I still should probably get back into that habit.
I've had /some/ good advice/practice in the past from a friend regarding stuff like that.

Muppets, Ok Go

@mawr @KawaSeadrake

Oh my gosh Mawr I need to put together a heartfelt original Muppet Movie night sometime, with absolutely no shame attached for either singing along to all the songs, or crying during it. ^_^

Plurality; Multiplicity

For a while, I was really enamored with gem fusion (see Steven Universe) as a metaphor for my selves and integration.

That's changed a bit; as they individuate more and more, I'm much more often just one at a time.

However, today I find myself a bird with electrical affinity instead of fire, and realize that this is likely a fusion between Lai and Yori (so, Yorai?) It's an interesting mindspace to explore, and I should think about the others in combination too.

A thought-experiment

@amalgam That's a really good question I don't have a good answer to right now. o.o

Social Anxiety/Empath Stuff

@Roady_Dragonfae Yeeeeees. I used to have this /constantly/. Still do sometimes (I still vastly over-read body language and tone), but the only thing that ever dampened the feeling was starting on antianxiety meds.
Doesn't mean all of the effect was /just/ my anxiety, but it still helped.

Muppets, Ok Go

@KawaSeadrake @mawr I personally have a /lot/ of heartfelt feelings about the original Muppet Movie, though I didn't see much of the show growing up. We had the film soundtrack on vinyl and I listened to it a /lot/. Also all the other films were great!

Optimistic but mixed feelings about the 2011 film, and even more so about the recent not-good show, but good to see them still creating either way. :-)

Muppets, Ok Go

@KawaSeadrake Pfffahahaha, yeah, I needed that.

Damn, I forgot this had so many OK Go music video in-jokes. :-P

Music, Psychadelic video

@KawaSeadrake You know, I've seen this multiple times, but I think that's the first time I really got a handle on the story. And it's real creepy. :-P

@Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town

Eeee! I had forgotten about that film but seeing the characters now, of course it's gonna remind me of you and Hazel. :-)

Characters: Claudia

@phenokage I saw those stickers, and was wondering about that one! :-P

@starkatt Hmmm. Market Spice in Pike Place Market is known for their tea which is heavy in orange oil. Maybe they sell it seperate as well?

@memnus@octodon.social (one of our judges for our events used to judge there, though I know nothing of its diversity or friendliness)

@memnus@octodon.social I don't know how far of a drive it'd be, but you might check out Channel Fireball in San Jose too. That's a local big one like Card Kingdom who might be able to get you a deck, or have the crowd for a draft.

@Roady_Dragonfae Ooooh. 🔥🔥🔥

I've seen forges like that, and pouring castings. Pretty fire!

@Leucrotta I have a different association with the song (but also with the film). Years back at an FC talent show, someone in a wolf mask tap-dancing and doing a fancy-dress routine to the song. It was good, but it was the extended version of the song that went repetitively on for about 6 minutes.
And then he did it again, for Conifur. And then again the next year for FC. Same routine, same song. -_-

about nerd subculture

@Leucrotta Books?! Aren't those like, mostly adaptations of film and TV? Books are for ner...oh, wait.
