The other thing is; they pulled this horror during Pride Month. Divide and conquer (don’t think about X, you must worry about Y), keep your victim exhausted, don’t give them anything that feels like accomplishment, try to control all access to information. Whether it’s children behind chain link partitions, conversion therapy or what they’re doing to us now, it’s a consistently abusive attitude.

We, right now, have very limited means to “fight” and fewer to “run.” I don’t want to condemn myself for not fighting, not fighting enough, I don’t like feeling censured and I don’t have the heart to condemn others for “going to ground.”
If you gotta withdraw, DO IT, there’s enough going on your voice will be crucial whenever you feel like you can cope again.

okay, I'm declaring a moratorium on my reposting of stuff I agree with.
I am myself a person who right now does not have the spoons to deal with the current horrors. it may be weak or selfish, but I just lost a beloved pet last week, then went through a life-threatening illness with another. and even if those things weren't true, I might not be able to deal anyway. but that's my right. and it's also my right to not click CWs that might upset me.

Insisting that the voice of the oppressed protest off the thoroughfare is fundamentally not a right we should be reserving. Though the choice to moderate your own voice is one that can be taken for a variety of practical reasons, or for consideration.
We should never normalize systemic social pressures for silence.

@KawaSeadrake on Sunday there were at least three ospreys flying low in the area around my apartment complex, making their high-pitched chirps. one circled so low over the Costco parking lot I could see its eyes! and then three crows took off after it. XD

kitten mishap (minor, he's fine)
Raziel was chasing a toy yesterday and ran into a wall full-speed, then sat down and did the "whoah dizzy!" thing for a few moments. I didn't realize a kitten his size could run into a wall fast enough to give himself a concussion, but--lesson learned! so now I'm careful to keep from running him into a wall with toys. >____<
