drugs
@vahnj ooooh, yeah, that makes sense. :| much empathy--it's not on the same scale at all, but I haven't been able to have grapefruit for decades, and I LOVE grapefruit.
depression support post
@mawr I would give you money (and fabric) to make custom plush frens. o_____o
drugs
@vahnj can you do edibles? I can't smoke, these days my respiratory system reacts badly to *everything*.
@typhlosion my Lokific has trans, nb, and ace dragons. :D
Patreon
I'll be revamping my goals this weekend, and I'm also interested in hearing from folks what kinds of rewards they'd be interested in seeing if they're not already on the list. What sorts of things would you want to see in a writing/literary Patreon? How much would you be willing to pay for them? I'm not going to make folks pay for the base output, but if there's stuff above and beyond that people would like to see, I'd be glad to hear about it!
Patreon
Hey, folks. This is a quick reminder since we're coming up on the end of the month that I'm running a Patreon to show off my writing -- https://www.patreon.com/literorrery -- which directly goes to help support myself, my wife, and my roommates. You don't have to contribute to get access to the stories. I'm trying to cut the cord with Twitter, so I'd appreciate the help with getting the message out.
cat medicating
medication acquisition mission accomplished! also "stuff pills down the cat's throat and make sure he swallows them" mission accomplished, though I realized *after* getting them in him that I was only supposed to give him *half* of the second pill, not an entire pill. I'm sure he'll be okay, though he'll probably have tummy upset, and both of us will feel bad. :(

Hey awooers and associated mastodon instances!
my good friend has this Kickstarter for a beautiful tarot deck that has a bit over a week to go, for those who are interested and might know someone. 💙
I highly appreciate any boosts in this! It's a really beautiful project and world that I would love to see suceed and brought to life 💙

and yeah, the chapter I skipped is one of the "needs much work" ones, in part because two of the characters that were in it when I wrote it aren't in it by the time I was done. :P *grumbles*
zombies, uspol
@mxsparks this explains a lot about why I dislike the zombie apocalypse genre in general. the only exception is the book (NOT the movie) "World War Z," which took the basic premise to a global scale, and thoroughly examined and deconstructed some of the most common zombie apocalypse survival tropes.
@typhlosion and don't worry if you have some false starts. when I was "shopping for a personal pantheon" I got a lot of unreturned calls and a couple of "you're cool, but this isn't quite the right fit." come to think, it actually was quite a bit like looking for a job...
zombies, uspol
"This form of Apocalypse myth will appeal to people with Right-wing values: they present a rough world where only people with Right-wing values are able to survive. [...] Zombie apocalypse stories are a refinement of this genre [...]
"Why does it matter that a genre has such a clean mapping to an ideology? The stories we tell and consume have a feedback loop with our expectations."

@typhlosion alternately, do a bit of research, based on things you like--do you like the ocean? look up water gods. like fire? look up fire gods. are you from a country/lineage that has a rich mythology? check into that. you'll know you've found something important when you *keep researching* because "hey, this god sounds *really cool*..."
