watched a half-dozen juncos and a single sparrow (probably a song sparrow, though sub-sparrow groups are *really* hard to tell apart) grubbing around for food on the porch. the juncos eat seeds, but the sparrow was looking for bugs, keeping up a quiet monologue of chirping as it turned over leaves.

@Leucrotta as a writer, reading a really great book fills me with conflicting feelings. on the one hand, it's inspiring to write my own stories; on the other hand, it's depressing to think that I'll probably never reach the clarity and brilliance of what I've just finished reading.
