@Twee_lil_Lass@witches.town I'm not a fursuiter and I've never been very interested in them, but I am very interested in this discussion, especially as it relates to regional/cultural differences, stylistic shifts through time, and uniformity/diversity of styles. like, *now* you could start basically a "fursuit database," just getting volunteers to send in pictures of their fursuits, and probably get a large enough sample size to work from for current trends...

conservative nerdbro culture

@zebratron2084 "verbal ranch dressing," I like that.

sad

@Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town I'm sorry this is terribly late, but I absolutely understand. any kind of violence against animals upsets me for *days*. *gentle hugs*

or at least one of the first to submit it, since it's not on the site yet, but it probably will be in the next couple of days. yay!

one of the best things about discovering new web comics like obeliskcomic.com/, along with getting in on the ground floor so to speak, is getting to be the first person to submit them to Piperka.net. ^___^

everyone thinks nakamoto invented bitcoin, but really the idea was cribbed from ancient egyptians, who invented primitive blockchains to describe ownership of wealth carried by pharaohs and nobles to the afterlife. researchers nowadays call it "crypt-o-currency"

death

@kara@occult.camp oh no. *sends gentle empathy-thoughts*

You know the saying "Fortune favors the bold"? It's a quote from Pliny the Elder.

Pliny had sent his fleet ahead to evacuate Pompeii as Mt. Vesuvius erupted, and was himself sailing to rescue his friend Rescina and her retinue. The smoke, ash, and raining debris from the volcano caused his helmsman to advise turning back. "Fortune favors the bold," Pliny said, and ordered the ship onward.

Rescina and her group - and all of Pliny's crew - survived. Only Pliny died - a stroke or heart attack.

Cats were after something under the furniture. Was a wee froglet. It's uninjured and jumping fine, was just a bit covered in fluff from our floor XD safely deposited in the garden now. mastodon.social/media/T2ZznlUY

why it's a bad idea to make decisions while depressive, vol. 73

"okay so what's for breakfast?"
"whipped cream"
".... and?"
"........ tea?"

also I had a lot of really weird and hard-to-describe dreams, so I won't bother. :P

uspol, my faith

it kills me, absolutely KILLS me, that people identifying as followers of Jesus voted for a pedophile. it kills me that this victory for justice and ethical governance will be seen as a blow to family values. I'm so glad that people of color fought through the opposition and vote suppression to keep themselves and our nation a little bit safer. may we all be a voice for the voiceless.

Muppets, Ok Go

@KawaSeadrake okay that was cute. and the last bits were a nice nod to Kids In The Hall. XD
