and with this commentary on late stage capitalism, I'm off to bed: http://oglaf.com/old-st-nick/ (Oglaf, surprisingly 100% work-safe if a bit grim)
@Oneironott dream well, friend.

recurring politics, music I like
One last thought before bed...Simon and Garfunkel's The Sound of Silence was probably a Vietnam War protest song mocking the idea of the silent majority.
The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls and tenement halls because the middle class refused to take a stand, hearing without listening and worshipping the TV news.
I don't know what I personally can do with this information, but it's good to remember.
@vahnj @literorrery @Gaypow is there an idle game where you breed kittens? or kobolds? or kobold-kittens? because I would absolutely play the crap out of that
@kara@occult.camp @Metaph@scalie.business hey, for a pack of kobolds I would *happily* dragon out TO THE MAX. with @anthracite as an excellent example...
@kara@occult.camp *nodnod* I'll blather on about it on @Troodon@occult.camp tomorrow, then. it was very formative to my otherkin spirituality, and it managed not to become toxic--at least, it never did that I saw on afd, although I think the "rule" (rarely codified, "enforced" by fairly gentle social responses) probably squashed what could have been some interesting, even helpful or useful, discussions. still--it was a price we paid for peace, and I think worth the cost. especially comparing it with aff. XD
Goodnight friends! I'm in that tired'n'wired state that's often a comedown from stress...I had nervy stomach pangs & slept til 12 (minus a brief restless glimpse of sunrise at 8), so it's probably not surprising that I'm up feeling exhausted & weird @ 4am.
There's also a great baffled awed gratitude & joy in my heart that I'm struggling to process or express–the generosity of this community's support transformed a day of panic into one of profound relief.
May we grant each other respite today!
@kara@occult.camp as an online social venue, it was--a lot nicer than plenty others, but what I was referencing here was specifically the interesting philosophical agnosticism that was pretty much the only rule: "it's exactly as serious as you want it to be; your experience is your own, do not question or challenge others' experiences without permission." which is how we got roleplayers, otherkin, various furry types, fictionkin, and adherents of various "traditional" religions (Xtianity etc) coexisting...
