just got a small flock of bushtits at the suet feeder, maybe 6 or 8 of them. they's adorable tiny birds, little feathered flying mice. also at least one hummingbird has discovered the feeder, though whether it's figured out there's food inside, I don't know--it didn't land, just hovered inquiringly.

@emanate I used to go to the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in the Santa Clara area when I was in grade school. I remember the museum being pretty fantastic, but I have no idea why the Rosicrucians were so enthusiastic about ancient Egyptian stuff. I'll probably look it up, now that I've remembered that. XD

My experience of mastodon: diving through a trapdoor into a poorly lit space and gradually discovering how big it is and how many other people are also sheltering in here, and how the one thing we have in common is human.
Given the intense focus on identity as divisive at the moment, this strangely anonymised space for meeting people according to their thoughts alone feels rare and hopeful.

@Metaph@scalie.business Skyrim glitches are the best. the first time I played I was stealthing up to the cairn for the start of the werewolf quest chain, and I looked over and saw a giant and some mammoths in a field way far off... and then suddenly one of the mammoths just went shooting straight up into the sky. o_______o I never saw it come down, either. I had to pause the game and laugh for like ten minutes. XD
