Nothing I did at the con was particularly new except maybe in intensity (there was certainly more con sex than ever before, but seeing a partner for the first time in 18 months will probably help that sort of thing along) but every day had something I just want to keep with me forever.

And you'd think maybe after devoting a lot of my life to creating and exploring "peak experiences" like that, I'd be... better at it, one way or another, but part of it I suppose is just that, and this, getting all that out of it, and then figuring out what is next.
Part of the way I know it was so good also is the stuff it helped me figure out. About my relationships, what sort of critter I want to be at a con and just in general.

BLFC 2018 was just… a really good con for me. I know because of the post-con depression.
I’m here a day after getting back and I just ended up crying about it just from talking a bit with Elanna, after most of a day of just sorta feeling listless and “how can I ever top that? What even do I do with myself now?"
It's been years since I've really felt that after a con. It's funny to think I do this to myself, I seek after it, but there it is.
Being at a con with someone you care about a lot who's also a first timer feels like all the best parts of a first-time con all over again. 💜💜💜 you, @TheBodan

@Oneironott EXACTLY MY THOUGHT OMG :D
@zebratron2084 Yes always! :D
@literorrery Thank you for sharing the knowledge of this wonderful thing. I discovered it when replaying CT on the DS, years ago, and I'm now at the point where I can't even reliably hum one of the songs without slipping into the other.
I even found evidence!
It's not a RickRoll -- I'm flat-out telling you what the link is: it's a mashup of Never Gonna Give You Up and Robo's Theme. It's 100% not my fault if you click on it. I'm only telling you the evil exists; I'm not telling you to stick your face in it.
Hey, Fediverse?
Have you ever noticed that Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" and Robo's Theme from Chrono Trigger have roughly the same chord structure?
Sorry I've been so quiet lately! Seems like for the past month or so I've been either really busy with home stuff, or swamped by work.
Fortuantely it's been pretty good stuff in the main, just time-consuming!
And now I have a few weeks more left of it to go at least, with trips on both the first two weekends of May.
When did my life get this hectic, and how is it that I actually kinda enjoy it now? O.o

@zebratron2084 That last bit, about tagging relationships, is why I'm kinda happy to see the recently profligate use of 'gay' as a very broad identity/relationship marker (even if I pout a bit about there remaining no good word for m/m relationships)
As someone put it the other day, not gay as in "homosexual" but gay as in "we certainly can't call this straight" ;)
@literorrery @KawaSeadrake @Roady_Dragonfae Thirded, if you weren't already counting me. ;)
@senemura@occult.camp @green To me Pike Place has a fascinating gradient. The surface is, as you put it, very observed, but when you go down a few levels it's the sort of place where you could find the weird shop with the little trinket you have to have and then the next time you go there the shop is gone and also you're a foxperson now or something.

This is a recreation of the scene I have the strongest memory of from when I played around with POVRay in high school, probably because it's the first one that I just made up myself. And I was really proud of discovering the cool point-of-light effect you get by putting a light source inside an object.
Yeah, I guess I was obsessed with glow even back then. ;)

It is as charmingly retro (painfully archaic?) as I ever could've hoped. ;)
@emanate Our high school ended up with a TrueSpace license instead, which I fiddled with a bunch afterwards, some of it in an attempt to make a game with some friends online.
I'm simultaneously sad and relieved that I don't have any of my old renders to share, here.
You all should be just relieved, probably.
Wait. I could probably recreate some of them. ^.^
