@fluxom_alt Sure you can! Though, using that line is going to lead the inevitable history teach to have to explain in context what it would mean to someone writing such a statement in 2019.

@SuperCee@plush.city i've found that there is a reason. And sadly, that reason is usually "It costs more money"

re CW: Praise for an EA game

@SuperCee@plush.city Fun enough for me to stay up until 00:30 last night playing it for the first time.

CW: Game Idea

Last night:
Self: What would a game designed to force players to listen to and protect the healers look like?

Answer: The healers have to be the leaders, and would end up controlling the match. Like generals or quarterbacks.

It turned into something turn-based/semi real-time, where Healers would direct squadmates around, and then the squaddies would have their own special skills

And then I realized that I just reinvented X-com

CW: Praise for an EA game

So after about a month of downtime, I got my gaming PC Citadel back up and running, so I could play a bunch of new games.

And Need for Speed Heat is so far enjoyable. It took some googling to figure out how to get the car to steer like an actual car, and my controller is old, so every time I turn hard, I'm also beeping my horn (So far its been amusing and not annoying.) But my S13 is satin pink, my driver is a black chick, and I stuck trans stripes on the back window.

Its weird that the only way I could convey the actual converstation that took place between me and my coworker is "Getting a Like" like, it wasn't a compliment, or a discussion about why I had it, or what they thought about it. It was a positive comment tossed in my general direction.

I mean, I'm still gonna take it, cause I'm the most fragile huskybot on the planet, desperate for approval.

But, I still find it weird how much language can change and stretch as we move into the future.

I got a Like at work for having "Be Gay, Do Crimes" on my keychain today.

@Leucrotta That would probably work more often if didn't present/frame my evidence as objectively as I can. Engineer brain is calculating in all things, even self-damage.

It's really hard to refute my brain when it tells me I'm on permanent unloveable status when I happen to find all of its evidence irrefutable compelling and convincing.

My meatbrain is defective. Can I exchange it for a computer yet?

@typhlosion To properly destroy Sauron so thoroughly he couldn't return, the One Ring needed to be completely destroyed. The only place the One Ring could be completely destroyed was the place where it was made, in the fires of Mount Doom.

The Ring itself was the load-bearing constraint.

@Motodrachen I feel this so freaking hard. Somedays i just feel like I'm code-switching, but for gender presentation?

Transmission intercepted and rebroadcast out. (Darn light-speed lag! CW: Youtube link, Remix culture is a wonderful place to explore)

@orrery "I don't want to cure cancer! I want to turn people into dinosaurs!"

@orrery Not with the River Tribe. Just lots of powerpoints while a chieftain babbles about metrics

I hate this bullshit safety culture at work. It never comes across as actually being about making a safe workplace and always just feels like busy micromanagement.

On a scale of:

No diggity
Some diggity
Much diggity
Total diggity

How much do you like the way I work it?

@Leucrotta @starkatt Astromechs and BB units are engineers and mechanics. And they have to fix the problems caused by organics. Can you really conceive of them NOT swearing?

@starkatt If anyone would, It would be Captain Panaka on Queen Amidala's security team back in Episode 1
