I got a new chronometric aug to replace the one I lost a few Luna's ago. This one has a bunch of new features like multiple occasion reminders, and a customizable hydration reminder. It abbreviated it to "Hydra," though. Which made me very confused for a few minutes.

I was going to the the first black Astronaut-NASCAR Driver-Fireman-CEW-President. there was about a 3 month period when I wanted to be a Power Ranger, but I grew up out of that nonsense pretty quickly and settled for giant robot pilot.

@KoBunny I would've loved to see this opening weekend myself, but I'm pretty sure its all sold out. One of the stars of the movie wasn't able to get tickets!

@LexYeen you can also try getting a deck that has more slippery cards so they don't stick together.

@LexYeen that's okay! That's why you shuffle more than once to help break those clumps up. And as you break in your deck and find the right amount of tension to hold the cards under the clumps should go away.

@LexYeen to bridge after shuffling place your thumbs on the opposite (web of skin between thumb and index finger) with the feathered cards against your palms to help curve the cards back down. Tension should push the feathered cards into a unified deck. This part took a lot of practice. Might want to be prepared to play 52 pickup the first few times. It comes with practice!

@LexYeen split the deck into two roughly equal parts. Then turn upper corners towards each other. Lift from the bottom of those corners with your thumbs and use the rest of your hand to keep the decks down and put the cards under tension. Let your thumbs slide up the corners, which should feather the cards together at the corners. Then tamp them into alignment. Repeat procedure 3-7 times for proper random distribution.

@Leucrotta the problem is there are so many ways to fall off the tightrope to a conclusion that is financially, culturally, and narratively successful. And if BP doesn't get all 3, then there might not be another and getting something similar will be even harder.

@Leucrotta That is a very good question that I hadn't thought about. I think if they can properly convey the conflict between living up to a grand and important family legacy, ruling a proud and exceptional country with integrity, defending the same from all the various types of threats of whiteness, and being part of a larger hero community, the showrunners might get close. But they might not get rewarded

I am extremely nervous about the Black Panther movie. I desperately want it to be so overwhelmingly and unambiguously good and successful so that more diverse casts, and even majority PoC casts are made. But I am concerned by Hollywood's history of overlooking the depth of nuance that is essential in properly portraying black life. The concept of Wakanda deserves a detailed and thorough exploration, not a mediocre blockbuster.
