... a day later, I realize I should've made that "Assigned Biological at Runtime." Just... gonna leave that there. It would've made a better joke, but the moment is passed, so anybody else who wants it, go for it. Find a good home for this idea and do something with it.

I try to keep politics away from this space, because more and more I feel like a specialist in my own particularly strain of psychoceramics, but I have enough trouble feeling like I'm screaming into the void sometimes. I need to at least put down my thoughts somewhere where I can look at them outside my own head and study them. If others want to pick up the rock and stare at them with me, I think I'm okay with that, too.

I genuinely think America is over. More to the point, I think America should _be_ over. I don't think there's a "we the people" any more, and that would be fine if we had a proportional parliamentary system with RCV and we could make small shifts at the margins and guarantee high degrees of regional autonomy. We can't, though, and there's no incentive for anyone in charge to diminish their own role on the stage to make it happen.

Do not build a clicker game whose mechanic is base and numeric conversions that provides interesting facts about math as its rewards for things.

(It's a calculator. It has a limit for how many digits it can display and what it can use as digits. You can buy new digits for the display and access to more base systems, but converting to higher bases will cost you clicks. Filling your buffer causes rollover but gets you other bonuses.)

Is "carbon-based organic" an identity?
Is "human" an identity?

If these are, then we must allow for people who possess either, neither, or both in our dialogues. Whether or not they are capable of being the things with which they identify, we must accept that they exist and are part of our worldview.
If these are not, then aren't we tacitly asserting that self-aware existences outside of these are not possible, or at least, not worthy of consideration as people?
