I did the thing!

I just started playing today so uh, don't expect much in the line of quality. XD
@Draekos :D :D :D *coilwrap snugs!*
@Draekos I am!! :D
@catterfly that's kind of cool, actually!
@Fuego I can't fault your logic!
recounting experience with proximity to murders (shootings, stabbings)
@OsirisSaline I grew up in a really nice neighborhood and moved gradually into shittier ones as cost of living went up, so I can at least empathize to the rich white people's emotional response on some level... but yeah. It's amazing what we can normalize if it's all around us.
@vahnj listen though if you can't make out with cute elves what's even the *point* of winning the war.
recounting experience with proximity to murders (shootings, stabbings)
@OsirisSaline Solidarity from the US; I just moved out of a neighborhood in San Jose, California where we averaged 1 fatal shooting every month within a 5 mile radius of my home there.
I still wasn't afraid to walk the streets at night, 'cause the people being killed weren't just selected at random. In my experience, people don't generally just kill people on sight without other motives.
@lonefur But awooing is not consumption but rather production! Witnessing awoo is a solidly ethical form of consumption though :D
@Sparrow That's awesome!! :D
My favorite groups to sing my heart out to in the car are Against Me!, Mother Mother and Capital Cities, recently ^^
@starkatt Soma FM is so effin' good :D :D :D
@Sparrow That is a stellar superpower. :D
@starkatt It's in our culture to apply a great deal of pressure to things that do not fit within our expectations. As a result, when you identify as something outside of the cultural norm, that pressure is applied directly and can manifest in the form of identity crisis.
...I've kind of been stuck in a loop of identity crisis for the past 6 months. ^^;
@starkatt I've been thinking a lot about this recently. I had an open conversation about it on my private Twitter on Monday: https://twitter.com/SoftMawr/status/861779321685393408
It started with "Open question to queer folks: is it normal for us to struggle with a sense of identity? Is it just 'cause we're so outside of the norm?"
The answers I received in response could largely be summarized as "the problem isn't with us, but rather society's attachment to the fallacy of normal."
"Vegetarian."
@literorrery Oh dear. ^^;;;;
"Vegetarian."
@literorrery If they're Bacon Bits as in the branded "Bac'n peices" product by McCormick, they are in fact not only vegetarian, but also vegan. Not on purpose, but accidentally. XD http://yummyplants.com/accidentally-vegan/accidentally-vegan-mccormick-bacon-bits/
To heck with my broken hands. I am going to follow my dreams. I'm gonna buy a guitar this weekend and then I'm going to learn how to play it.
The last time I tried, I was 14 and playing an acoustic with super tall frets and old strings. That guitar made me feel the tendonitis and carpel tunnel pains I now live with every day.
This time, I'll try a nice short fret electric, and I'll string it with super light strings.
I think I can do this. ♥️
Wish me luck!
GRS, genitals, lewds
@indi @KawaSeadrake I've been thinking about this stuff pretty heavily over the past couple of weeks -- namely, wondering even how we could document our experiences in a way that would be helpful to others.
I know I'm not the only MtFtNB who's gotten a bilateral orchiectomy, but I can't really find any info from anyone else who has that I could learn from. I don't have anything to compare my experiences against to better understand them. D:
Dragony plush thing! Friendly, non-binary, anarcho-syndicalist, ace.
