Remember:
You are the only one in the world like you. You are important -- you matter -- just by virtue of bearing that unique vision into the universe.
I'm glad you're here. I hope you stay with us as long as you can.
The world can a scary place, full of loudness and anger, but it can be beautiful, and it's moreso because you're part of it.
Be good to yourself, please. There's nobody in the world who can replace you, and you have so much light to share just by virtue of being you.

Right now, the things that make you happy matter more than ever.
In times like these, you should hold tight to them. Find cause for joy and hope in every day.
Even the smallest of things. Those matter too.
Because the world is...kind of messed up lately! in ways that often we cant really help or fix.
I ask that you try to find happiness in defiance of that. Represent a world where hope and love and kindness still exist.
They do.
And you deserve them.

Today's term of the day: hapax legomenon!
A hapax legomenon is a term that appears exactly once in a given corpus.
Frex, in all the Latin text from classical Rome that's survived to the modern day, the verb "circummingere" appears once, in the form "circumminxit", in Petronius's "Satyricon". "circummingere" means "to urinate around", and is used in the description of a magic spell a werewolf uses to turn his clothes to stone (by pissing in a circle around them) before he goes off to maraud.
@bunnylyn It's nice that she actually stopped to ask. Still potentially awkward.
compliance with normality, autistic functioning labels
@DataPup @Firstaide We think that's one of the deepest traits that decided in the end between high and low functioning: whether someone could be convinced through enough training to think everyone needed to pretend to be normal. Some decide that being seen as normal or moving the idea of normal to include them is the only way they can be safe. Others are excluded or decline on their own to try to fit into the boundaries accepted by society.

inflation talk, lewd
@Oneironott In search of true purity one could end up partitioned away behind glass, just an observer controlling a device as their toy is trapped on the other side, sealed up tight so no new air can enter or escape as the air around them is pumped out instead, vacuuming them until they stretch out to fully fill the space or pop in the attempt.
inflation talk, lewd
@Oneironott Using one's own air, life's own breath shared, has a special feel to it. The level of detachment provided by a bike pump, the effort saved and the sizes to which one can bring their partner comparatively are so different. More even is lost in electrical and mechanical automated pumps, as speed and power increases their own lubricating oils and greases mix more freely with the air they provide.
cw: bleah
@zebratron2084 We thought the Catholic Church invented it in 1431 for the trial of Jeanne d'Arc! ;)
@uma anyways my point is that while public spaces do need to be moderated, perhaps what we also need is not a few big spaces, but many small ones
@Oneironott good! also, you look great. :)
kink, EMTs
@literorrery we'll claim ultra violet and try to pretend our partner was yelling our name and wasn't just making up new colours in the kink spectrum to try to get the EMTs to leave her alone
