@typhlosion The original hang drums actually aren't made anymore, unfortunately! There are a small handful of others around the world that make them, but again, they're rare and exorbitantly expensive. Like, $1.5k-2k USD at least. if not higher. And usually involve waitlists.

Steel tongue drums, while similar in sound, turn out to be much cheaper and readily made- the one I linked was like $650 USD?

BUT I KNOW RIGHT THEY'RE REALLY PRETTY I'VE LOVED THEM FOR YEARS.

A second windfall happened yesterday from grandparents, and with a previous kindness, i...actually have enough to afford such.

...it's hard to tell myself that 'it is okay to get myself a Nice Thing', instead of just saving and focusing on survival.

But i'm gonna get one. n..n;

I've wanted one of those for years.

...however, they are...prohibitively expensive, to say the least. Like, as much as a fursuit.

HOWEVER. doing some research, i found a different kind of handpan that's like a third of that price, and just...well, it sounds just as pretty to me. u3u

(instead of the hang, which is hammered into shape from the inside-out, this has steel tongues cut to resonate at a certain tone. Similar, but different?)

i recalled late last night about the Hang drum. It's a kind of instrument in a category called 'handpans', it's a mix between a steel drum and a UFO lookin' thing, that makes beautiful music:
