re: photography question for photographers
@elilla I've taken decent insect pictures with a 50mm cropped to APS-C but you'd really want a zoom lens to use the full sensor. Good lenses that move cost quite a bit of money, unfortunately, but they also hold that value for a long time. I'm quite happy with my Sony a6300, a mirrorless I got used for 450 (with its alright kit lens and a manual lens thrown in for free). I don't have a zoom lens yet but I have a 50mm Samyang portrait lens (with AF) that I like a lot
@halcy when I ssh into a server
@typhlosion good
whoa just found out the original wilhelm scream recording is now digitized and in public domain? the blog post about the digitization process is interesting https://blog.freesound.org/?p=1515 https://freesound.org/people/craigsmith/sounds/675810/
re: accessibility re: personal website theming
@clarfonthey I just thought that maybe you weren't aware, sorry
oh neat, I had a hunch that the powerbank just refused to go to 9V2A because it was empty, turns out I was right. I guess it was worth figuring out how to update this thing (it updates by presenting as FAT mass storage and some change to Windows made it stop working properly, luckily, Linux exists)
re: accessibility re: personal website theming
@clarfonthey fyi the website link in your profile doesn't resolve
@catalina wow they're not even being subtle
I'm already running custom firmware on this thing and sadly the hardware can't support USB-PD
@NoraReed you can buy there's a pretty low limit (like 80mb now?) and it takes a lot of server resources so it might just fail. Mastosoc should be able to handle it tho
