@socks then go for an a model, they have cheaper and less bulky cameras but the same chipset as the full-fat Pixel
@socks some Android manufacturers have really long support cycles now. I used my Pixel 4a 5G for a fairly long time and only recently upgraded to the 8a, I'd recommend any of the Pixels tbh if you want something with a decent camera or little fuss

@chickfilla aw, I have a pixel 8 as a work phone and it's pretty sweet, though the screen is actually breaking around the camera hole
@chickfilla get whatever Pixel generation is in budget. Probably not the 7a cuz the batteries are getting recalled but then again new original ones are available on ifixit
