@SuricrasiaOnline @noiob that's true! though i guess what i mean is that if i was on the receiving end of a soft block, i would feel like i shouldn't follow the person who did it after that point out of respect of their wishes

to me, soft blocks seem like asserting a boundary that you are trusting others to not cross again
rude of my brain to want to deep dive into all of them simultaneously

so sometimes you see fennel configs
it's pretty rad, honestly! cause vimscript is one of the main things that really scared a lot of people away from playing around with vim outside of its defaults

also, in case it helps, remember it's also okay to curate your spaces! especially if you find them negatively affecting you
like, mute keywords and content warnings that bring you down, mute and block if you feel like doing so would be "a relief"--this is your space, after all! it's also your mental health, so it's entirely based on what you feel like is best for you~
it's also okay to unplug for any reason (including none!) and for as long as you like if you feel like that isn't enough

@iitalics oh! that makes sense. i guess i mostly don't use it for email because email just kinda feels bad to use in general
know what doesn't feel bad, and actually rules though? sending secret messages to your pals on everything that lets you send text~ ^^
@panina pgp is mostly just general end to end encryption that you can use on any medium that lets you send text
it's also a way of proving that you are talking to who you think you are
it's pretty neat! (and also definitely not an nft, which are more like, cryptocurrency digital trading cards with a bit of ponzi scheme sprinkled on top)

like, i'm ace, and the kinds of things i would post on an AD aren't even explicit--but i still feel the need to add a disclaimer to my profile that there might be some things i will post with cws, and that i should only operate in spaces that i think an AD wouldn't violate consent
so, even though this is my main, i kinda treat it like a sorta-pseudo AD
on birdsite, i have two accounts because i have to, but the compartmentalization feels terrible since it feels like i'm simultaneously spreading myself too thin, and also only able to interact with others with half of me hidden--because nobody wants to interact with my AD for fun computery and creative things, and nobody on my main probably even wants to know a core part of my identity even exists
so i'm constantly torn at which is better--though the way i can just kinda exist like this on masto definitely feels more comfortable, so i've kinda concluded that this is probably the best way for me personally
