@sugar ooh! these are pretty common too!
i probably wouldn't get one for someone because that's kinda gatekeep-ish, but i think i know some peeps who would probably legit use that for their transition aesthetic
@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz you can give dual-booting a shot if you want to try it out for a while!
pretty much every linux installer will give you a boot menu to pick between windows and linux when you start your system
if you like it, cool! you can just keep using it and have a pocket windows installation--otherwise you can just boot windows by default
@ShugoWah is very good luxray!
@ShugoWah mind you, some things are nicer on 10 now, like WSL! that's a really cool project--also, VS is nice!
but at the same time, i suspect we might see a version of fl studio on linux because delphi now has compilers for it! tablet support is getting nicer, and i've been thinking of using AzPainter anyway, since one of my favorite artists uses it well!
i have nooo idea how things will pan out, but i might have enough reasons to go 100% linux again if i can actually do all my projects on it
@ShugoWah same! the main reason i use windows is because it's the only thing i can get fl studio to run on--and it has better tablet support for things like sai
but, the way that each update on 10 seems to break another part of my workflow really isn't convincing me i want to use it more. (i mean, what are they even doing to tablets??)
@codl oof, yeah. i've got nothing
it's too bad the android music player landscape is kinda gnarly. i imagine the "not 44.1KHz? lol let's crackle" bug in android itself doesn't help matters at all
@ShugoWah it's true! valve has been super-dubious on quite a few fronts, but their linux efforts have been actually Pretty Tremendous
i've primarily used linux for nearly the last decade, and i can definitely say that there have been lots of improvements in interest and support
i mean, it's not perfect... there are still usability issues for people who don't know the system well, but things are *so* much better now than they were before, and i think valve played no small part in that
@codl oh! i figured you might have tried it basically first so i didn't mention it, but i think vlc does that
it has both an artist list, and it pulls metadata about things like cover art if you have none of that locally
you can even toggle how it handles artists in audio settings
@noiob TIL
@Xkeeper oof, yeah, then i've got nothing... sorry..! ^^'
@Xkeeper huh, that seems...wrong
i guess in the meantime, if you use the web interface, maybe you can use the regex filters in your columns instead?
@Xkeeper welp
it would be pretty lame if filters were case sensitive, but that's the only thing i can think of besides unicode right now
@Xkeeper maybe unicode schenanigans?
if you paste it into encodeURIComponent() in your js console, you can see zero width joiners, lookalikes, and stuff
@noiob it actually has noticeable effects in splatoon too
if you find yourself disconnecting a lot, it's probably not nintendo's servers
i live in an apartment, so an ethernet adapter was pretty much a *must*
@noiob stylus, uBlock, greasemonkey!
even keyword searches and socks proxies work!
firefox mobile is Quite Good! it's just too bad it doesn't handle PWAs very well
@XerTheSquirrel no prob..! ^^
@XerTheSquirrel oh, those are things that are positive (+), negative (-), or ambiguous (~)
so like, if someone's sad, they might tag with "-", if something makes them happy, they might tag with "+"
if things are mixed, that's when "~" often gets thrown around
multiples of these are used to say how intense they are
oh hi! i do computers, and sometimes draw stuff~ i like lo-fi things and cute aesthetics!
i also probably like you
(also, tagged #abdl ahead, soooo 🔞)
