i actually taped my phone to the wall to take this because my arms aren't long enough to counter selfie distortion, and a mirror selfie would reverse the text

not to mention i legit keep year-long goals as resolutions, but they're squishy enough that there's no pressure when the year is about to end

that lets me get excited for the things i want to do for my next resolution!

usually they're skill based, but i've at least dabbled in every practice that i wanted to get good at--so this time i'm planning something social!

if things go as well as they have for my other resolutions, maybe 2019 is really the year i get serious and break out of my shell!

december to me always has both this cold blizzardy aesthetic, mixed with the comfy and cozy feel of the things that happen during it in a juxtaposition of some seriously good vibes

holidays, my birthday, new year's, an arts and crafts festival, and finally expunging all my fatigue and burnout from the year

this time around, i'm even visiting someone in a place i've never been before!

it's so close to december, my absolute favorite month, and i'm getting excited!

i always somehow manage to negotiate it off, and i've got lots of plans before the end of the year

my belief of "to each their own" and that "everyone should have the same chance at happiness" were always present, but my understanding of the lottery that is circumstance is what ended up pushing me so far left

i know things can be so much better! and the situations of people that have it rough with the status quo don't need to be so bad!

it's still so strange to me that wanting to limit human suffering is seen as extreme

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz for me, it depends on the podcast, since some are basically just people talking about a subject, and others construct worlds

audiobooks might be neat for similar reasons too!

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz i can't sleep in chairs, scenery and ambiance can only keep me occupied for so long, and i usually can't talk with people i'm traveling with for that long (though maybe i could if i had more in common with them), so road trips make me extremely bored, and figuring something like this out is a must for me

etrian odyssey has got me through so many flights and bus rides

more recently, i've added podcasts to my arsenal after i discovered they keep me much more occupied than music–especially ones that create universes and tell stores

the adventure zone is a good example of this, though i'll admit it starts out pretty bad (the rockport limited is when things start getting really nifty, and it just keeps getting better)
