@tojo @typhlosion i am a big fan of porting old personal projects to a new language to learn!

trans/nb phoba

@Siphonay@octodon.social it's kind of like that one person who posted about someone asking their kid what gender they are and the kid said "my gender is robot" and it Became A Thing

trans/nb phoba

@Siphonay@octodon.social hmm

it's hard to pin that down in this case but that's an understandable worry

part of the attack helicopter thing is that it was explicitly a meme that came up as a way to deny peoples' identity

the way me and others are using this is more as a way to express how bad the concept of gender is

idk if that makes sense :x

@doll chillstream sounds nice!!!! i can probably jump in in an hour or so while i work :)

joke involving cowboys & guns

@Mycroft oh yea i'm kind of tired and screwed that up whoops

computers

@chosafine@instance.business wow this changes my opinion on my change from "it's ok" to "i'm glad i switched to iphone" now

joke involving cowboys & guns

did you know there's a term in graphics programming for how far a cowboy draws their gun?

it's called draw distance

@dog oh yeah! I guess that would be a good reason to not be asleep

@daggertooth@monsterpit.net a horror movie about a monster that flees the humans who hunt it

Current status: still getting hecked up by the animal designs in The Ancient Magus Bride awoo.space/media/wK91EAU3fxfil

@posit@chitter.xyz it's more important to try your best and make slow improvements than to be expected to be perfect all the time every time

you're a good dont worry

@daggertooth@monsterpit.net @Aros :thumbsup_hmn_g1: :kobold:

@dzuk@a.weirder.earth i hella love yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss

Not only is it numerically sortable properly, but it's also "string" sortable IE the alphanumeric expansion of order per-character of the string that is produced is in the same order as the date order!

Thoughts on social media and caring

Social media encourages us to be more performative about our thoughts and activities, including the things we care about. A down side of that is that if someone isn't performative about something, it can seem like they're not doing it or don't care about it.

Remember: people can care about things without it being a public performance, and calling someone out for not making a public performance of their very real care does very real harm.

ableism

@daggertooth@monsterpit.net I wasn't even calling them ableist. I said they used ableist language, and asked them to do better. They took it as an insult.

Apparently not feeling disparaged is less important than not hurting people to them.
