@PaulFerence being overstimulated by something is a thing people can experience to different degrees, same with disassociation, and it can be a thing that's used commonly but when the folks I'm commissioning use triggered it's always over something that's just a part of the game that made them lose. I'm much more a fan of "being salty" over such stuff

@PaulFerence The way you phrased it sounded like a challenge to the idea that it's use is harmful- like it's not a big deal nobody takes this stuff seriously and that normalizing it's use this way doesn't hurt anyone.
People laugh at "triggers" on literally a daily basis now as if they're not real so apologies if I come off way too passionate and angry but I hate how this normalization of pain takes away its validity in peoples' eyes.

imagine not being able to focus on anything and being unresponsive to someone talking to you - that's a form of disassociation i have
additionally, overstimulation can cause me to enter this kind of state if i'm having bad mental days
that is how mine manifests and it's garbage to make light of triggers in the way that gamers say things like "healers get triggered by this WoW raid!"
