So I was reading up on the history of Tama, the legendary (and since her passing, literally divine!) stationmaster of Kishi Station, Kinokawa.

And I learned she's had two successors: Nitama and Yontama. Well, Nitama basically means "Tama 2," and Yontama means "Tama 4."

Tama FOUR!? Obviously, I had a moment of worry. What happened to Tama 3?!?

Well, that would be Santama, aka Sun-tama-tama. She was sent to another station in Naka-ku, Okayama for her training. But when it came time to send her back to Kinokawa, the Pubic Relations executive who had been raising her sent them a curt letter saying:

"I will not let go of this child. She will stay with me in Okayama."

Yeah, okay, that's fine. What a relief. 😺​

@anthracite Admittedly, after what, 2+ yrs now of Parallax design, we are both getting kinda Advanced at the plot-guessing stuff... Still, yeah, the color palette was generally too drab for me, the characters didn't really reach me, and it just felt like a lot of the "you like CONTENT, right?" fanbaity stuff that turned me off of FF1-∞. Granted, I only saw the tiny amount that you played, but you've run through so many games that were love at first sight for me...

@frameacloud Some late Pratchett, maybe? I was never a fan before, but I finally picked up Going Postal and loved it. Or some of Charlie Stross's punnier stories from the Toast anthology? I'd have more, but I've been on a steady horror diet since I left Seattle. :)

@Phorm Nah. I think my plan is finish Parallax so I have a legacy, then fight them for sport. I don't really think I care anymore whether it works. I just wanna wreck shop. We can be heroes just for one day.

Wasted 20 minutes freaking myself out over a flicker at the corner of my eye, worrying that the new eye floater I got yesterday was turning into a retinal detachment.

Stood in a dark bathroom for five minutes, blinking crazily and trying to check it out. Finally convinced myself that yes, indeed, it had stopped the moment I walked in there.

Came back out... and realized I had been freaking out over the lighting effects of the café's ceiling fan. I mean, god fucking dammit, but I guess it's better than the alternative...

@zx3 Huh, that sounds like an awful lot of work. Can't I just carry one of my vital organs around in a pan, sneer, and whine a lot?

@zx3 So... we should be grooming each other, and eating housekeys in case of emergencies?! O_o
