@hystericempress *sigh* Short answer: yes, but they're not that powerful and I should never have read the comments.

@hystericempress Now I feel the urge to go through the Steam Workshop and see if anyone ever did these guys Civ mod justice...

@JulieSqveakaroo I'm not sure yet either, but man, that title track really takes off at 3:23. :D :D :D

I think I'm already in love, thanks roo!

mh (-)

Short version: altercation with jerk on trolley. Manspreader, took great offense to accidental tapping of his foot. Yelling match. Unpleasant flashbacks to high school. Feeling vulnerable and angry. Proud I did not bite his nose & give him double rabies.

@Soreth *starts the dragon hugpile*

Take it easy, hon. I hope you have the quietest, easiest day possible. Eat a pastry if at all possible.<3

re: music question/offering

@zx3 Oh, see, my closest equivalent for that one _was_ "Pictures Of You." It was the very last song I listened to with my 2nd girlfriend from college, sprawled out next to her on the floor at the local Goth Queen's party. I knew it was good and over for us, we had already broken up and I was due to move to Seattle for the 1st time fairly soon. It was a very painful song for me.

And then she was kind enough to go Full Texas Jesus Crazy and release me permanently from having to give a fuck about her, and now that song's just fine. ^___^

re: music question/offering

@Momentrabbit @zx3 oh geeeeez i gotta nope out of that one instantly-- it's not that it's bad, it's TOO good. too many feels, especially now that he's gone. just too pretty to take.

raccoon world problems, mood, mh (-)

I think noisepuppet's Youtube Poops and the promise of a burrito when I'm done with work are the only things keeping me from going Full Distemper Mode today.

I don't have rabies! You have rabies! Your whole stupid world has rabies! I have... unrabies! *froths and shakes, clearly stricken with the Space Rabies*

re: music question/offering

@spacewastrel@snouts.online One of my few bucket list items that have actually gotten *easier* here in New Orleans is playing that album during an actual road trip along the Gulf Coast...

re: music question/offering

@zx3 Oh god.

See, that one just makes me shudder in fear of the Test Card Girl from the BBC. That freakin' show...

But it's one of those like "What A Wonderful World" that probably doesn't *have* any happy contexts left. For anyone. From innumerable different sources. o_o;

mood, music, mh, monochrome (-)

I've never seen a song, nor its video and lyrics, capture so perfectly the time I spent at Transliminal.

They even got the Seattle color palette right: none.

re: music question/offering

@zx3 Yeah. Yeah, I have those kinds of songs too.

This one takes me back to Seattle 2012. So of course, I don't listen to it very often. It still kinda smells like burning wood and melting plastic.

@hystericempress I... I am finding myself liking Billie Eilish a lot more than I expected to.

movies, today's personal hero

This is unironically fucking amazing. Ugandan action cinema. I'll have to dig up the article, but it's even more amazing when you know the background: it's basically TWO GUYS running the studio, making films for <$200 USD a pop. They couldn't get a helicopter for one of their films SO THEY BUILT ONE FROM SCRAP.

Oh, the guy narrating all the action is normal in Uganda. They're called the VJ ("Video Joker") and they help translate the action in the—incredibly likely in Uganda—event there are language barriers with the audience. (I almost did a spit take at the "Ugandan key" joke.)
