my ex and i had a bunch of housemates who had JUST been harvard-square homeless kids, but had the fucking nerve to be right-wing and pro-war and love GWB... even though they were ALL COLLECTING SSI, including one who had an engineering degree and could work just fine but preferred to blow all his SSI money for a CONTROLLED case of epilepsy on warcraft figures while he stiffed us for rent -- and they were that special kind of goth-pagan whose magickqzxal beliefs just HAPPENED to put them at the center of the universe and make never-ending cosmic adventure out of their shitty selfish lives

@kistaro Thankfully most of my warts have gone away, I had like five or six stubborn ones in college, but I am still prone to getting severe eczema/dishydrosis on my fingers, especially in summer, which manifests as lots of tiny crunchy bubbles of skin. I used to call these "coyote bubbles," out of a quite unfair impression I had caught them from Acetone_Kitten. It turns out they're not contagious, but I still call them that anyhow because it's still funny. ^____^;

After The Thing Happened in Seattle, I felt like such a pariah. I'd lost one of the most important things to me: the sense that if my doom finally came (which I'd been braced for since at least age 12 when my dad died), i would be widely missed, loved, and mourned.

And I was thinking about that just now, and how much fun it's been not just living with Peg down here, but having this little place with all of you and watching my circle of friends endure and even grow.

And I do feel loved, and I feel like if I were to suddenly become a Tragic Young Victim... people would miss and romanticize and mourn for me.

And that ain't as much comfort as not catching this would be. :) But it's still a comfort. And I'm very grateful for it. Whatever happens, love you all. Let's all wash our hands and not die, mmkay?
