@chimerror Hey, have you looked into Ozymandias (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1768280/Ozymandias_Bronze_Age_Empire_Sim/) yet? It's an attempt at a 4x than can actually be played in polynomial time and/or human lifespans. :) I haven't tried multiplayer yet but the single player campaigns have that same appealing "every nation is its own puzzle with its own very particular difficulties." I also need other Ozy players around so I can figure out if winning on Tutor/Professor level is impressive or just kinda lame, before I brave online play. 😅​

@Owlor He reminds me of a dear absent friend of mine, a tiny shark-puppet bath mitten by the name of Admiral Sardonicus. The Admiral and I tormented many a rapscallion[1] during our adventures on the high seas[2].

I hadn't seen the Admiral in years, presumed him dead or discarded, and then suddenly there's this flood of similarly colored sharks from overseas with the very same good looks and charisma. I like to tell myself this means he retired to Sweden with his fortune in plundered treasure, found love in the chilly Baltic with some winsome dogfish.
