I've taken quite a few photos this month and I'll be posting them in the next bit!

lot of stuff ive seen from large follower account people trying to hold the line on exodus to other sites like mastodon, is stuff like "people do <bad learnt social media habit> there", "its a lot of work for moderators" and "transmisogyny happens there" and like yeah no thats called all online social spaces everywhere.

Mastodon and the fedi doesn't have to be a perfect solution, just better than the alternative right now. Perhaps the reality is that no one social media site should be allowed to hold such a unbreakable sway on public consciousness for so long.

A few years ago I made this flow chart of which Mastodon posts end up in which timelines!

So, you can see how each instance will have a different local timeline, and even a slightly different federated timeline - and you can see why the federated timeline moves so much faster than the local one, too.

This is why it's important to boost good posts and use hashtags - the fediverse is fragmented and harder to search by nature.

i pulled out fl studio really briefly and just made an extremely quick tune that's pretty much 100% this progression in a few different forms layered on top of each other

...which turned out to be a pretty neat experiment!

Fun times ahead for #Adobe designers. Today, if you open a PSD (even one that's 20 years old) with an obscure PANTONE colour, it will remove the colour and make it black. Pantone want US$21/month for access, and Solid Coated goes behind the paywall in early November.
