@Leucrotta tbh I don't know about ability fit or job opportunities, but I did a half-semester of CAD training and I loved the *crap* out of it. I didn't finish because I had other problems (cough*depression*cough) preventing me from attending school consistently, but if I were to go back to school I'd be seriously tempted with a CAD program.

On echo chambers and filter bubbles
If you as a person are aware of the filter and can remove it, then IT IS NOT A BUBBLE, IT'S A SHIELD.
Bubbles are maintained or burst by outside forces, shield are raised or lowered on purpose.
Blocking assholes does not create filter bubbles.
and right now Stubby the Squirrel (which somehow lost about 2/3 of its tail, but seems otherwise in perfect squirrel health) is on the porch taunting Razi, who is crouched on the mat and quivering. XD

Razi had his first close (through the porch screen door) encounter with a squirrel yesterday. he hunched up into a little ball and puffed up, and growled at it. the squirrel, which was slightly larger than Razi is currently, was not noticeably impressed. XD by the time the squirrel left the porch Razi had stretched out on the mat and was gripping it with all four sets of claws, still making little growly noises. ADORABLE LITTLE MURDERBEAST
Killing mice
@viTekiM it probably doesn't help, but I think of mice as "nature's popcorn"--*everything* eats mice. wolves, coyotes, eagles, crows, raccoons, badgers... deer, sheep... chickens... XD there's a very good reason they're so amazingly fecund.

we are only as strong as we are gentle with eachother, and sharing is caring only if it's properly CW'd.
If a triggering toot is massively boosted, it can make the fediverse toxic for marginalized/hurting people for *days*, which can severely impact their (cough, my, cough) ability to be online at all.
I frequently mute people who use CW text unethically, too.
Put the info behind a wall.

coz usually the people willing to put the most work in, even for the most urgent and disastrous political horrors... are multiply marginalised people.
multiply marginalised people are more likely to have ptsd and are at more risk of burnout and have more engagement with activism. AND less avenues of treatment available.
this idea that scaring fence-sitting liberals is worth more than helping seasoned activists work safely.. it's not realistic. people ignoring it aren't gonna help
