Patreon Prompt: Rude Awakening http://orrery.prismaticmedia.com/2017/12/02/patreon-prompt-rude-awakening/
@kara@occult.camp It's... a mixed bag. I've been running a linux server for home hosting off and on for something like sixteen years now -- I started an IRC server when a channel I frequented lost Undernet registration in 2001 -- and so it's second nature to me to do it, but it's definitely not the path I'd recommend for anybody new. That said, my years of DIY have left me deeply distrustful of "professional hosting solutions" and their arbitrary lockdown restrictions.
@reasdoinaheckinmeetup When are we doing this? Is there an official confirmed time at this point?
@Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town @mawr @kelseyhusky @ElectricKeet @adeptomega @makyo It was really good to see you, Erica, and Hazel!
Eeeee! I was so thrilled to go see Contact at my sister @mawr's and @kelseyhusky's place tonight and then home to spend time with @ElectricKeet and @adeptomega that I almost forgot!
My contributor copy of Arcana came in; I got to pick it up from @makyo directly! I even got it signed! Eeeeee!

@Soreth Just the two? =n.n=
kinks question
@starkatt That's a conversation for not-on-the-Mastodon, but I'm happy to have it under the right circumstances.
Invocation of Scorpio
The stars turn. The Sun and Moon rise and fall. A cocoon of snow settles across the land, and the world becomes quiet and still.
Spirit of Scorpio, frozen mirror, I invite you to make your mark upon me, to cast a myriad reflections and show me new possibilities, new ways of being.
Xalki, refiner, thank you for your resourcefulness. You've shown me time and again how paths I thought impossible can be salvaged. May I strive to be as tirelessly creative.
The Work Continues.
Invocation of Libra
The stars turn. The Sun and Moon rise and fall. Dry turns to wet and Season of Air turns to Water as the winter rains begin to fall.
Spirit of Libra, breath of fresh air, I invite you to make your mark upon me, to reveal my flaws, to review my work that I may learn to do better.
Xalki, super, thank you for your critique. Your even-handed analysis helps me see my successes and correct my mistakes. May I be as compassionate when I review my own work.
The Work Continues.
@Soreth I didn't make it. I'm just sharing knowledge of its existence.
They're... rather disappointing, really. It's the one-note-punch problem. The popcorn form factor doesn't fix enough of that. It gives me a sad. So many of their other weird flavors have been wonderful; this one was a letdown.
@Soreth Real popcorn, covered in RedHot.
Ichor, Bile, Software
@literorrery I'd really like to see software subjected to engineering standards. The world would be much better for it.
Ichor, Bile, Software
THIS is why software developers do not deserve the title of "engineer." THIS.
THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS.
We cannot even get data validation between two systems that could be verified by two minutes of research consistently correct and expect the non-technical user to solve the problem when the technical user runs out of time. This is BULLSHIT and it is HARMFUL. How many people will never figure this out who deserve the same access to use the same tools?
