@katieamazing But... but scales! This is the perfect time and excuse to evolve into the radiant dragonfly or mantid you've always dreamed of being and eat the heads of those that disagree.
@Soreth The House of Jurai _are_ dubious fuckers, but they and all the other noble -- and occasionally ignoble -- houses play a role on the Council.
If you find a good jewelry vendor, let me know? Don't settle for hover; hold out for the full mobility package. Don't let them sell you on less. You'll be glad you did, and try to get at least one maneuverability booster while you're at it. The blimp flies, but does it truly soar?
CW: suicide, cops
@starkatt Breaking open a roommate's door that I only suspected but couldn't yet prove had committed suicide, calling 911 to report a dead body in my house, and then having to try to explain to a cop why I thought my dead roommate had depicted her online RP character as having the same jewelry she was wearing, all in the span of a few hours.
Open question, MH
@KawaSeadrake I have two sequels and a prequel to Bonds planned, a sequel and possibly a capstone for Beautiful World in the works, the Magister Trilogy to write, and countless short stories waiting for time and attention.
I can't stop the orthocosm from turning to shit, but I can make paracosms that inspire others to look at the orthocosm in new light and see new potentials within it.
community, interpersonal pol
@green @memnus@octodon.social @Jssra Even when it _is_ botched communications or misfiring defensive habits, external bridge-building can really only act as a holding action if the parties in question aren't willing or able to close the gap between their respective needs. Sometimes, realizing that a situation _can't_ be "fixed" is the smartest and healthiest option for everyone involved. And that straight-up sucks.
@Momentrabbit Yikes. I just had to read server logs on Slack on my phone from the toilet. =o.o= Go get your toe checked out, bunny. Please. We care about you.
@KawaSeadrake *hugs* Got pea soup going on the stove and fresh bread going in the oven. Hopefully those will help.
@atinyfairy I believe there's a common "muted words" function in the root of Masto's settings that applies to everything, but I don't believe it does full regex.
@Soreth You said, "Hey, folks, who's up for D&D5e?" At least, that's what I heard?
@noelle Installation and execution commentary. Show me where you're running your code in a production-like environment, or supported it in a production-like fashion. Link your bugfixes to your issues so I can get a sense that you're not just building what you want to build, but what your users are actually looking for in the software you want. Ideal code that nobody builds doesn't help the world. Less-than-perfect code with an active userbase and engaged devs are great! :)
@noelle Well-executed issue threads that show me you can handle customer commentary gracefully. Statements of design intent. Pull requests that get evaluated by people from other organizations. Pull requests to other organizations. Show me that this isn't just "my codez." Show me your engineering philosophy and how well you can execute on it.
And to his absolute credit, when I told him "I have the flu; I'm not going to put a date on my wellness," he offered to send a tech to the house instead of demanding I drive somewhere to drop off the old modem. So, props to you, "Paul from Atlanta."
... and no, that isn't a joke. The poor rep was clearly calling from a foreign call center and didn't know how to handle the business-account-at-home situation I had, but he'd been instructed to act like an American native to get better results from folks, so he was gamely trying to parse "Transliminal" as somebody's name.
