@Thaminga @indi @PhoenixTril I'm not saying it's colonialist oil extortion, but it's probably colonialist oil extortion.
telling yourself that everything is awful, & nothing can be fixed, is a marvelously expedient way to absolve yourself of responsibility. There is nothing about an apocalyptic worldview that obligates you to give up any of the comforts and conveniences that have accrued to you as a consequence of global injustice; & you get to feel superior to all those tender fools who still believe that a kinder world is possible! @acetone_kitten That is a fantastic article. Thank you for sharing it. ♥️
@kimispice Welcome!! ^^
After having a semi-frustrating conversation centering around the livability of Phoenix Arizona, me and some friends naturally wondered: "whose dumbass idea was it to build a city in the middle of the desert anyway?" https://awoo.space/media/r0HB29GsgiU2O3WV9Es https://awoo.space/media/1n82hUGbGTdx-KzebwM

@BigFatFae All that said, I can relate to the situation you're in, and I hope you find some relief from it soon. >..< *hugs offered*
Work venting
@BigFatFae One of the most helpful things my therapist ever said on the subject of stress at work:
"The psychological definition of stress is the failure to objectify responsibility."
Basically, any time we're feeling stressed, it's usually because we're trying to take responsibility for things we can't control. By acknowledging that we can't control those things, we realize that pressure on us doesn't change anything.
At that point, it's just about finding an escalation route.
