I love that on Mastodon, despite having half the follower count, I'm 10 times more active here than I ever was on Twitter because on the whole, people here seem to care more about community and conversation than they do about self promotion.

I have conversations with people on Mastodon, but if I wanted to talk to my friends on Twitter, it involved asking them for alternate contact info.

@green It would have been fantastic if I had expected it to be a lightly encrypted numbers station. I could totally have used it as ambient noise on a downtempo track to great effect.

But when I'm trying to hear someone speak, it was less than desirable. ^^;

I have been included on an email thread in which a marketing manager is repeatedly requesting last minute changes to a web form someone else is creating.

Every last minute feature request reads like a half drunken stranger leaning in to suggest terrible ideas, just with a bit more eloquence -- and includes buzzwords like whoa

I just got out of a meeting that might as well have been sitting in a dark room listening to a lightly encrypted number station for all the good it did. It sounded like the presenters were underwater, and I could barely make out a word any of them said. X3

@incatoxication As someone who grew up in a smallish town and ended up friends with a bunch of Juggalos, whatever gets you through it, man. There are a hell of a lot of worse things out there.
