My advice for trans people recently starting out:
There's a million and a half ways to deliberately expose yourself to the words and views of people who hate you. Don't.
Reading that shit doesn't make you any better informed, just more hurt and bitter.

I had to close Slack yesterday. I am connected to two Slack instances, and neither of them had had any communication in literal days in any of the channels.
...and yet, Slack was somehow still constantly downloading _something_ at over 50Kps.
I'm stuck with a mobile hotspot right now so that was extremely NOT COOL. >:(

@kara_dreamer@witches.town This used to happen to me a lot-- the way I get around this problem is to pack the things I need into or on top of my bag or shoes-- one of the last things I grab before leaving. That way I'm very unlikely to forget it. ^^
