exercise!
After 28 years of being fairly sedentary (i.e. ever since high school marching band), I think I've finally rediscovered the appeal of grueling exercise thanks to Anthracite.
She wanted to drag me out to see her favorite feature of City Park, Popp's Fountain--which was admittedly beautiful through the big locked fence. :p
Not her fault in the slightest. We had searched EVERYWHERE for their hours before we left. Even their official page didn't list 'em.
So, with me already exhausted, we took off to get me a drink. 20 minutes in intense sunlight later, I finally got to drag my ass into a PJ's Coffee.
They have frozen lemonade.
I am the happiest little trashpanda right now, and the whole afternoon is now retroactively wonderful. I think I'm gonna have at least two more of these. =(^)__(^)=
re: disenchantment season 2 spoiler +/-
@001zlnv I mean, you're not wrong—I've been enjoying the season despite it, but it did seem like a weird turn. And I really liked where the whole Dagmar plot was going, would have liked to see it stick to the damn arc.
re: disenchantment season 2 spoiler +/-
@001zlnv Uhh, how many times did Futurama flipflop on whether Bender gets drunk on alcohol or gets drunk when he doesn't have enough?
re: mh (++)
@JulieSqveakaroo Oh god I'm so timid, honestly. I'm not afraid of my enemies in the faintest anymore. I'm terrified of my friends and always have been.
@mmsword @Leucrotta Yeah. Honestly, I like a certain novelty in my gourmet donuts, but they've gotta be able to 5-star the basics, too, and I never felt like Frost could really do that.
It's kinda like how they recommend you test out a new sushi bar by ordering good ol' tamago and tekka-maki. 'Cause if they can't do that, they certainly won't be able to pull off their Specialty Gourmet Habanero Camembert Jackfruit Balut and Tempura Skittles Roll. :p
mh (++)
Today has been a warm and fuzzy day for the most part—slept in for extra dragoness snuggles, heard from an old friend and exchanged ancient jokes, fixed a Parallax plot glitch and handed a cameo out to a gratifyingly flattered friend, got some positive attention from an acquaintance I've always been kinda friendly-bashful-scared towards...
Usually, I take this as a sign that the gods have something terrible planned for me and I should avoid standing on any yankable rugs. :) But whatever, they're gonna do what they do anyhow. NOLA life still feels like cozy and welcoming today.
@Leucrotta Ooh, 9th and Hennepin is real good. Is Rodeo Donuts still around? I also liked General Porpoise in Cap Hill, though their hours are bizarre and they only have interesting gourmet-type varieties once in a while.
@Leucrotta Eh, I'd probably eat 'em if I were depressed or hungry enough, but yeah, those sure look like 2–2.5-star Dunkin's-level donuts to me.
Dammit, now I wanna go out to the fancy-ass 5-star donut place down here in NOLA, but it's all the way across town. It's basically our Voodoo/Psycho Donuts except they don't share their weird delusion that cereal is a gourmet ingredient. :p
@Leucrotta Good lord, are they made out of pebbles and soot?! D:
re: How I've kept my hair dye looking fresh for 4 months [1/2]
@mawr Peg wants me to get a hat, but I just don't think I could see myself as a Hat Guy, and any transformation into Hat Lady is not really on the horizon, so I'm kind of stumped.
I think my only real option is to get a hat that's *so* horrible that it will be read ironically, like one of those plaid Floyd R. Turbo hunting caps, or an ushanka, or maybe a fez.
But then I'd look like Grunkle Stan. And if I had my hair dyed, I'd look like Hippie Grunkle Stan. And that just ain't right.
re: How I've kept my hair dye looking fresh for 4 months [1/2]
@mawr Thank you for the advice! I haven't tried doing mine in ages, partly because it always disappears fast and leaves it looking a blond that really does not work on me.
Lush is kinda amazing, one of the few self-care brands I'll actually pay extra for. Sadly, "keep hair out of sunlight" is kind of impossible down here in NOLA—I think it's one of the few ways y'all are spoiled in Seattle. >:D
Also, I'm digging the whole Rotisserie Mawr effect. Next year: Kaiten-mawr! :D

@mawr It's so hard to choose between QffEuTiger and SevVeZebra...
re: Gems from a neural network
@mawr I... I thought it was gonna be a list of fake Steven Universe characters. I'm all sad now. Or maybe I just have an evening project. ^_____^
