Shameful confession:

I love using botsentinel.com, even though I know there are serious and valid criticisms of its methodology and its owner, even from the left.

It's just so damned effective at shutting people down. If people actually did their homework and brought up some of the algorithm's limitations, I'd be screwed. And yet, it's never come up, not once.

And at this point, I'll do whatever works. Trump supporters have gotten far enough on sheer ugly innuendo, I feel like turnabout is only fair. And if they do argue, I can always point to the huge number of conservative pundits who score really LOW on botsentinel as evidence that it's not biased.

Even though I suspect it really is. Oops, oh well. =(^).(^)=

Oh, and I finally finished Disco Elysium off last night.

I would have made a good detective. Not the kind that requires, like, observational skills and stuff, of course.

The Dale Cooper/Doc Sportello kind. The Elliot Gould as Phil Marlowe kind. The kind with a high Inland Empire skill.

The kind of brave loser who just gets knocked around from one brush with a surreal, corrupt world to the next, and then sees something he's not supposed to. And in the end, he doesn't win so much as... not lose.

Because the real mystery was "Who made all this make so little sense?" And the real culprit, the one nobody but him will ever believe did it, is "Nobody. Nobody at all."

At least, that's sure how I'm feeling today.

You know what the grand irony is?

My self-hatred today is based on the assumption that nobody in the fandom wants to see me, because everyone associates me with being a Fountain Of Hate from the Livejournal days.

And my frustration with the world is based on seeing everyone become a Fountain Of Hate over politics on Twitter and Masto.

What can I say. I was ahead of my time. *shrug*

Also, while I'm mooning over stuff...

I really like Peg's friends down here, the few I've gotten to meet so far. We get along well and have plenty to talk about.

But it's just not the same as having a social circle that's predominantly queer furries. No hugs, no species board, no shared daydreams, no gushy emotional displays. They're "normal" and a bit proud of it—even the guy who puts on a wig and dark glasses and pretends to be a mad scientist once a month.

I think Peg's really enjoying the break. To be honest, I *am* enjoying the break from radical queer politics just a bit, but... the constrained emotional sphere is getting to me.

In particular, I've been dwelling on past mistakes and how they've presumably affected the fact I don't hear so much from people anymore. So anything you can do to relieve me of these Pariah Feels would be especially valuable right now.

Today has turned into a bit of a clusterfuck and I'm feeling very trapped and down on myself. I could stand to hear something encouraging right now.

It doesn't even have to be about me, just something to make me feel like I haven't necessarily locked myself into a dismal Bad End scenario, and it's not just gonna be a big grey smear of stunted emotions from here on in.

I would also accept cash. (KIDDING! :D In my current condition, I'd probably just go up to Brocato's bakery and convert it directly to bodyfat anyhow.)
