I said my goodbyes to the people on Birdsite I most wanted to keep touch with, linked them to this account, and booked. Feels great. I might fall off the wagon again, but this time... I have no urge to go back whatsoever.

Leftists frustrate me because I want desperately for them to succeed and meet the highest standards of wisdom and insight, so it annoys me when they act like all-too-human buttheads.

* There is a secret corgi from the depths of Heck stalking the suburbs. If you pet him, you become a corgi. FOREVER.

* An undead clown is sneaking into little kids' bedrooms, making them balloon animals, and leaving. The townspeople track him down and take turns giving him hugs.

* A jaded occult researcher is locked in a haunted room that, after tormenting him for days, turns out to just need a friend.

(So basically Edward Scissorhands but, yanno, a lot more of it.)

Between reassuring check-ins with two of the old housemates, finishing the Parallax script, and pettin' a Blue Heeler/corgo mix at the Ballard Farmer's Market, my mood is currently 5/5 and unassailable. ^___^

Bloody FINALLY, I have a complete draft of my half of the first Parallax story. Finally, this is starting to feel like a Real Thing That Is Happening again and I'm so happy!

Newest Parallax canon: the Vek-10 have a book called the Codex Culpabilis, whose only purpose is to be copied, by hand, by people who have misbehaved. The Progenitors had it painstakingly written, even algorithmically optimized, to be the dullest text that has ever existed.

Today's look: Walter White, if Walter White kept all his hair, grew it out, and it looked FANTASTIC.

And I've noticed that the current battle between left & right mirrors the old Furry Culture Wars in so many ways. Maybe this round of angry freakin' reactionary kids will settle down and embrace Deep Cultural Weirdness someday too.

In other news, I managed to save an unappreciated satirist on /r/MarchAgainstTrump from massive downvotes from people who inexplicably didn't get that he was kidding. That kinda made my day.

No fooling, I really am becoming a Poe's Law skeptic. I'm really starting to wonder if it's just become a handy excuse for people who have no satire detection skills. After 13 years fighting goddamn 4channers, the tells seem SO OBVIOUS to me these days... 🙄

Much better today. It's just... you know, when I'm stressed out, I revert to my reclusive, paranoid, self-hatey 11-year-old self, and he SUCKS.

There are reasons I don't talk a whole lot about me before my Christian phase -- because say what you (and I) will about religion, prior to my conversion I had approximately the empathy of a cone snail with an MBA. XD

I'm scared of going back there, but I'm LESS scared today thanks to my friends.
