Awoofriends- we have a Patreon if you want to support our staff!
The money goes to me, which I
then distribute to our staff when payments hit. I have very good full-time employment and do not take any money for myself.
Currently we've only paid @kyra for her art, and we commission her at least once a month on top of that!
She's very busy, but her next piece will be a drawing of the story that won the competition to name @awoofriend.
Yup, it's gonna be this kind of day.

I have had it up to my eyebrows with software that:
• forces me to do wrench the guts of the system just to get it working right;
• forcefully reverts the changes I made to get it working right;
• asks yes-or-no questions as yes-or-nag-me-again-later;
• uninstalls working third-party software that improves on its functionality (yes, this has happened);
• claims to be free but then tries to throw ads at me anyhow;
• makes me pay for it then just up and stops working.
Fuck Microsoft and Adobe.
And I'll set up a VM with a copy of Windows 7 stripped of anything like telemetry, and I'll use that for the scant few apps worth keeping around. I'll take a melon baller to the bits of code that suggest such nonsense is even necessary. Any software I legitimately own the right to use, I will install with whatever methods are necessary to make them simply work without phoning home. I'm never getting a piece of legit software yanked out from under me again.
And today, after being on this system since its release, Windows 10 suddenly has this to say (note the lime-green circles)

No, Windows I'm not going to activate you. I'm going to deactivate you. I'm going to put something on this system that doesn't constantly overwrite working video drivers with broken ones, that doesn't wake my monitors up at night, that doesn't need constant vigilance just to keep from spamming me with ads and unwanted apps.
All right, I gotta ask.
Are there any fellow Windows users out there who actually use e-mail services other than one of the web-client-based ones? What do you use for a mail client in Windows? I'm presently using FossaMail, a no-longer-developed fork of Thunderbird, and while it works well enough for now, I'm wondering if it's time I moved to something else, but I don't know just what is worth moving to.
And the answer:
"According to Seattle Public Utilities, they will recycle broken bongs regardless of whether there is resin in them. However, Rodd Pemble, recycling manager for Sanitary Services in Bellingham, says bongs are not accepted for curbside pickup."
"His rule of thumb for recycling glass: if it's purchased from a […] store holding food or beverages, it can be recycled. Anything else […] should be thrown away."
